Who would be interested in taking part in a well-run Kaillera tourney/league for $5 an entry (via PayPal)? I would like to know the number of people that would be willing and ABLE to actually put in $5 to see if it’s worth it or not.
The $5 would cover the cost of me putting up a central US server dedicated to hosting matches. It would also cover costs of putting togeather a website to run it all and insure security. If there’s enough interest, there could be a cash prize too.
Website would be used to register entrants, view match schedules, arrange match times, view results. Would be run similar to CAL http://www.caleague.com/ where you are assigned to play someone each week, schedule it with the person, and must report results by a certain day to participate the next week.
All matches would have to be played on the league server because I can integrate it into the website to make sure the right people are playing and not faking being someone else, etc. Any game would be up for play provided enough people are interested.
As much as I think this is a cool idea. I wouldnt put 5 dollars to play. The main reason is because of lag issues that the games will be played in. Also, some people will not accept loosing their 5 dollars in a match they believe they didnt loose, and this will cause alot of havok in the tournament I think.
i would probably do it, not that i would ever win but it would have to be monitored almost all the time by a 3rd praty to keep it honest most of the time it would seem
Sounds cool the problem is besides lag issue what about players that aren’t from the USA like me(Puerto Rico) or Ken dong(Italy) would they be allowed since their ping would be 60+? or will this be only avaible for players that live around or close by the server.
