Are there any legit KOF USA players on par with Mexico or Korea for KOF 13? Every torunament I have see either is Mexico/South America or Korea. It seems like Europe, USA, and and Japan are nonexistant for the new itteration. Does anyone one know of anyone legit like BALA or MADKOF? Honest question no troll.
Outside of SoCal and some NorCal players, there are probably some legit players in the Chicago scene and maybe elsewhere; as good as BALA and MADKoF, probably not. You’ve got some players worldwide that have showin how good they can be, like Fox (and maybe Frionel) from France, Young Yao Ren from Taiwan, Karou/Dune/other top JPN players who with heavy KOF experience who didn’t show at EVO 2012.
For an example, check out this Korea vs Japan match: http://showprime.com/BioBooster/D3kxH1DsOjHX
For America, we really need some legit/notable EC players who at least can stand against WC.
Lol…why do you think everything has to revolve around the US tournament scene, in the sense that if you don’t see them in a US tourney, they don’t exist? In the grand scheme of things, the amount of international top players that come to the US is almost non-existent, especially for a game like kof13. There is no incentive for most of the international top players, to come to the US.
Japan beat Korea even though Japan was at a disadvantage (Korea brought their best 4 players (to my knowledge, MadKof didn’t seem to think there were others in Korea at a higher level), while Japan just took 20 random players from the arcade, about 5 of which are top players).
As for the US…you could probably call BALA and Romance American players, even though they have Mexican origin. I know they live in the US, but I don’t know how long they’ve lived in Mexico.
No what I said was it appears that these other countries are not on par with South America and Korea. Japan play tournaments or high level players appear dull by comparison to these two regions and the USA is not on par with them either. So I was inquiring if there are any known players for KOF in the USA. It’s not that the scene revolves around the USA, I wanted to know if there were/are any players out there from the USA on equal footing because it appears that there are not.

Well thats good for Japan, but what tournmanet feed I have seen of them it’s not to impressive, it’s good to know they have sleepers.
No they are from Mexico, and repped Mexico, not the USA at Evo. They are Mexican they have made that clear. They may live in and take advantage of lax USA social shortcomings and programs, but they are not of the USA they are of Mexico. So again I ask are there any known USA King of Fighters XIII players who are on par with South America and Korea? Or Japan Sleepers?
Which tournaments? Mixupnight? It doesn’t attract many top players for kof13, most of them go there for AE and then join kof13 on the side. Most tournaments I’ve seen for Japan are pretty solid and right now they are beyond Korea for a number of reasons (more top players, more better players).
There are no USA players on par with the top koreans, but you can argue that Reynald is on par with Mexico, or close to it. Japan has many players that are above and beyond and it’s silly to call them sleepers if they have no interest to travel: Shoki, Haregoro, Oogosho, Koukou, Kaoru and a lot of players I don’t remember the names of (like the Vice/Billy player at Versus).
Anyone is a Sleeper in my opinion if they don’t make it out. You could be a KOF God for all I know I would consider you a sleeper because I have never seen you play. Or you haven’t made it to a major. Travel abroad has nothing to due with the equation. Hope that clears that up.
On a seperate note do you by any chance have video of the Japanese tournament you’re talking about or at least a channel so I can see this? It would be much appreciated.
This was a 20 vs. 20 event in Japan, where Korea brought their supposedly 4 best players (not sure if the third guy is one of their top 4 though). Each Korean player has 5 “lives”(to simulate the 20v20), while Japan picked 20 players from the area, each with 1 life.
Anyway international players do come out to their own tournaments. Why do they have to come out to an American one to not be sleeper? The reason I keep stressing this is that many top (and in some cases, better players) are usually ignored or not even known to exist because a number of people(typically the stream monsters) are focusing only on events in the US. Like yeah, Madkof is a beast, I’ve been following him for a long time (he is an OG kof98 player) but as good as he is in kof13, there are actually a number of players better than him, specifically in Japan. He also lost a money match to Kaoru at Evo 3-1, and while that isn’t too significant, Madkof said he wishes Kaoru didn’t get eliminated that early in the tourney because he felt he was the best player there and would have made a higher level grand final than Madkof vs. Bala.
I recommend checking out this Nishinippori Versus in Japan. It’s a weekly set they have, typically two teams of like 10 players each. You can find the other ones by searching for “Nishinippori Versus” or “Versus Festival” on youtube.
Thankyou very much any information given is appreciated it may or may not change my opinion but I thankyou for giving me the information so I can make a judgment on it. All information is appreciated.
