Feel free to bother me if you need help with anything in the game, I know it pretty well.

Okay, I guess I’ll bump this for Xenozip or anyone else interested and have questions.
Damn bell I didnt even know there was a thread.
It’s a bit old since the brunt of the info is now on the wiki and on IRC.
Cripe, The program keeps crashing when I start it up. The game should run on Windows XP right?

Still accepting money matches.
I can’t, even with netplay I just can’t get back into it after seeing the sequel. When it comes out it’ll probably me another story though
People looking for recent high-level Japanese tournament matches for this game should look at Sibladeko’s youtube page: http://www.youtube.com/user/sibladeko
There’s also some combo stuffs here on ArmandoXIII’s youtube page: http://www.youtube.com/user/ArmandoXIII
And some more stuff on TMN’s youtube page: http://www.youtube.com/user/xtmnx
And I have some casual matches from #iamp posted on my page: http://www.youtube.com/user/Xenozip
I compiled a playlist on youtube for a bunch of IaMP combo videos.
Also, beginners should read this tutorial. And you can also see some gameplay notes in my iamp blog.
Couple of quick random notes about the netplay:
-
The netplay has a “delay” function which allows you to set an input delay manually. This makes the online play very very smooth and fast (always 60fps). Local area players can get like a 2 or 3 delay setting which is not much input delay at all. Mid-range or cross-coastal play is usually 4 or 5 delay which is a little laggy on the input but the game still runs at 60fps with the delay setting.
-
You can spectate matches with the netplay. While other people are playing you can join and watch. If you join mid-game the game runs at a much faster fps setting until you catch up to real-time, and then it plays at real-time normally.
-
The #iamp channel usually has like 40 people in it with varying levels of skill and play style. The regulars who play almost daily consist of some extremely good oldschool players, some medium skill newcomers, and some noob beginners, so it’s easy to find matches.
just found about this
man … i am really glad this game has spectating supported :7)!!!
Yeah honestly the netcode is the ideal 2D fighter netcode.
It supports a delay function, supports replays, supports spectators, and it’s coded extremely good. Plus it’s open source so they can always improve it if anyone wants to help improve it.
Meaning, it has the best netcode available out of anything (MB, GG, XBL, BBB, etc).
The aesthetics really aren’t the appeal of the game for me (as usual), it’s the gameplay. It’s really solid and dynamic and deep.
This game is hard at high level.
