The FGC could request a localized english version. It innovates the way 3D fighting systems are designed. ^-^
I’m gonna check if I’ll buy japan psn codes to get it. I think at the bottom it says 3000 yen? How much is that in dollars?
uglies are just jealous it’s the most beautiful and inspirational fighting game in all categories with fair learning curve, ultimate epic action, the greatest music, and supreme balance. Just because it’s full 3D free flying combat, doesn’t make it a Tenkaichi clone. It’s a 3D Fighting Shmup, the first and only type of its kind. and the way it combines its fighting system with its music, makes it genius design that makes battles even more climactic and exciting!!
Hmm, last time I played one of these Sky Arena games they were just basically Budokai Tenkaichi on crack with the ability to synch up your music with the intensity of the fights. I’d much rather see IaMP get proper console exposure.
I’ll agree that the fanbase and what they produce are generally… not something I’m too enthusiastic about, but what’s wrong with the official bullet-hell shooters?
The basic gameplay system is simple yet effective, allowing you to switch from speed and crowd-control to literally pixel-perfect precision and focused damage with the press of a button. They’re fantastic games to score-run and each game,as well as, to a lesser extent, character features its own take on optimizng your point-value, making getting that elusive high-score an incredibly involved process. The spell cards are tricky, challenging and satisfying to capture and varies greatly from boss to boss, making dodging pattern after pattern never get tiresome. Plus they’re just beatiful in motion. Beating the final boss’ last spell card for the first time gives me a kind of satisfaction I rarely get from games nowadays. Having to 1CC to get the good ending in some of the games is kind of excessive though since the games do otherwise do a good job in allowing players to set their own pace in how to tackle each game.
Granted, I’ll admit that if it wasn’t for the catchy soundtracks, I probably would’ve just turned around at the door after seeing the more vocal parts of the fanbase.
I also appreciate that there is absolutely zero fanservice present whatsoever, but of course, the fanbase had to sully that part too…
heeeey, they added more playable characters than most Touhou fighting/VS games get (a lot more than Genso Rondo). Someone could also rant all day about Patchouli not being in the roster, but it still has lots of favorites
Most Touhou haters and fans haven’t really played the games. The haters hate on it to look cool, the fans mostly fap to the porn.
The shooters are some of the best in the genre, although after UFO ZUN seems to have lost his touch. Never cared about any of the fighters, the previous iteration of this one was pretty terrible despite its nice graphics.
What this looks like is another 3rd person behind the back fighting game trying to cash in on the success of Gundam vs Gundam. Throw this in with the shitty Dissidia arcade game and the ill-fated Rise of the Incarnates.
Genso Rondo is cool too, though it’s not as immersive and epic like Touhou Sky Arena (and Sky Arena has one of the greatest rosters )
it’s only trash to those with trash minds and think only their own tastes/preferences matter. You cared to trash talk in a topic that doesn’t interest you. Does that make you a troll? someone with too much free time? An attention whore? A flame baiter? Someone with a life so hollow you have to spread hate to fill yourself with purpose? Sigh, these clowns sure think they are special.
I… Actually agree with this. (sort of) I mean sure, Affinity has this innate ability to create topics about games that no one on the forum is interested in and hype them up enough that people just HAVE to respond to them. But at the same time, why waste time trying to combat what’s ultimately a topic on a forum? Wouldn’t the point get itself across much faster if no one responded to Affinity’s topics? And if people do enjoy these games, who cares? Just go play more Street fighter. It doesn’t affect you.
See the point is i want him to feel bad about being stupid, that’s the intent and purpose.
It’s not because i dislike said person, but it’s clear nobody ever taught them that their posting inane bullshit deserves all the derision it gets.
I would have just marked it wtf and moved along but clearly someone felt that had to much potential to bruise eggshell egos and shatter the everyone is a unique and beautiful snowflake mentality.
MEW!! mew mew mew mew MEEEEEEW!!! I know what I’m talking about.
Touhou Sky Arena is the most revolutionary and innovative fighting game since Virtual On.
Look at all this depth
It’s the perfect invention and application of shmup gameplay with a unique free flying 3D fighting game structure. And it accomplishes it without being a Virtual On clone, without being a Armored Core clone, without being a Tenkaichi clone, without being a SSB clone. Touhou Sky Arena has even greater levels of genius than Power Stone, with the wealth of two games content, refined into the definitive version on PS4!!
If I get someone to buy another Japanese psn code online, I would surely buy it from Japan PSN Store. It is madness rare for a masterpiece like this to be ported outside PC, and who knows if and when NISA would localize it.
I see absolutely nothing revolutionary here, but I do see that it uses a limited imitation of flight where you can move around the XZ axis freely while limiting and simplifying the use of the Y axis, which is nothing new, VO and Zoe pretty much played like this.
Combat is limited to single button dial-a-combos, but it also has the SFxT/Arcana heart subsystem to shake up the limited roster that no doubt play signifigantly alike without it.
>It’s the perfect invention and application of shmup gameplay with a unique free flying 3D fighting game structure.
As said above, it isn’t free-flying, it’s free-running with an invisible floor holding you up.
>And it accomplishes it without being a Virtual On clone, without being a Armored Core clone, without being a Tenkaichi clone
I’ve looked at the controls and gameplay, it really is just tenkaichi with CPU characters and teams, it even has the ki meter. Plus having a lock on in these 3d brawler games isn’t new.
>Touhou Sky Arena has even greater levels of genius than Power Stone, with the wealth of two games content, refined into the definitive version on PS4!!
I’ve seen no genius whatsoever here, plus the wealth of content is eight characters, a dlc character, and a 60-song OST, most of which are likely just old songs with new synthesized sounds added in MIDI.
In short, the game is entirely derivative and you are overhyping it because you want to get more secondaries into your newgrounds flash shooter game community.
