Just downloaded this game today. I find it very fun. Probably show it to my friends during the next local play meet.
Yeah, if those two weathers were removed from the game, the other system would actually be half-way decent or interesting. Typhoon is either you go all out because you have a big lead in health, or you just run the fuck away to avoid getting beat up. Spring Haze just puts the game at a standstill since there’s no real reason other than to just fly around and graze bullets. :looney:

I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary. Also, I’ve tested Reisen’s blockstrings myself. Some of her stuff is airtight on block, but it drains as much spirit as it damages, so in order to crush you she has to guess right a couple times in order to get ahead in spirit, which isn’t any different from a lot of the cast (and in a lot of cases it’s worse).
So, what are you referring to exactly?

Apparently top characters in Japan are Aya and Youmu, followed by Marisa and Yuyuko (I think on Yuyuko).
Bottom characters are Reisen and Patchouli, followed by Iku and Komachi.

Japan’s impression of their tiers in the demo were Aya = Alice >> Reimu >>>>>>>> Marisa
Marisa didn’t accomplish anything in the first demo tournament except for Kai who was in the finals (but that’s Kai). Marisa accomplished absolutely nothing in the second demo tournament.
Now, since the demo, Marisa was actually nerfed considerably.
Her DP no longer has both graze and melee invulnerability like it did in the demo. Her sparks no longer detonate and slow down a grazing (dash/hj) opponent like they did in the demo, instead they just fly right through you. Her BNB combo is now significantly harder than it was before, so you have to sacrifice damage for something more consistent.
Aside from that, Reimu has exactly everything Marisa has, except everything Reimu has is better in a number of ways.
So yeah, I fail to see how a character that was the weakest character in the demo, who got nerfed dramatically since the demo, ended up better than a good portion of the cast even though she’s just a weaker version of a couple characters?
If that was just based on the netplay tournament results, then, umm… no. But I assume it wasn’t since it leaves out Remilia, Alice, Tenshi and Komachi.

But yeah, the game has only been out for two weeks, so tiers are lol at this point and are, like I said, for the lulz.

I’ve been hearing conflicting reports about what is says.
It appears they recognize that some players got screwed over due to weather in the netplay tournament, I guess as just an initial “we know” kind of announcement (I guess they’ve been getting feedback). Apparently they were also spectating the netplay tournament.
It sounds like they are in favor of weather, but they understand that it is dramatically affecting gameplay.
But it does not say anything about what action they will take. So it’s hard to tell what their future intentions for weather are just from reading the post.
next issues to fix
- flight
- wrongblock
- chara imbalances
- useless cards
- giving more than just a few charas real stagger options besides “5a… 5a… 5a 5a… 5a” so they don’t hj8 out of any sort of pressure
- actual high/low mixup instead of just movement/block
It’s official, Reisen is bottom-tier. I’ve heard on the Shrinemaiden forums that Aruhori (sp?) is playing her.

Well, sorry people but I’d hate to bother someone. But when i try to run SWR it says “d3dx9_dll was not found”. I got Win XP and I just downloaded DirectX10. Any ideas?
i remember i had this problem… i guess you should either go back to DX9, or search google for a “3ddx10_dll” or something :X
