ST community has roots that extend far beyond the measly year or so we’ve been playing SFIV.
Ok…? But the Japanese have been playing ST for just as long so your point is completely invalid. It’s not like we’ve been practicing ST while the Japanese sit idly around doing nothing. When Team USA for SFIV plays the Japanese they are playing them in a game that has been out for a few years. When Team USA plays the Japanese in ST they are playing guys that have been playing ST competitively for several years heavily.

Yeah, I didn’t know who he was at first, nor did I realize how heavy that team was until I got home and started watching some vids of theirs. He just wasn’t ready for those US Gief strats.:nono:
jan/hsien had to play Blacky’s team (shoutouts to Blacky for the hilarious litchi cosplay) consisting of Litchi/Noel. Hsien looked pretty good going into the first round vs blacky’s litchi but then got touched and then that was it. it looked like he lost all momentum from there. Jan didn’t do so hot the first round vs Noel, second round he dropped the noel down to about 5% but then the noel came back and took it.
Stunedge had to play against Himang’s team consisting of Litchi/Bang. i couldn’t really see stunedge’s match since we were on the opposite side of them but i know stunedge lost to the Litchi (i think in straight rounds?) and then his partner took his match to the 3rd round before losing.
Kensou and I had to play Dora/Hima. Kevin played Hima and took him down to 20% both rounds before getting cursed for game. First round of me vs dora it went to down to 20% life each with both of us using burst before i lost. 2nd round i beat Dora convincingly. 3rd round dora outplayed me and beat me convincingly.
