Tougeki/SBO 2009 Teams

It’s an odd year this year with so much stuff happening this year in the genre, though hey at least a good number of low tiers have made it.

F-1 ??? ???(IB) ???(UR) ???(CH)

http://wikiwiki.jp/3rd/

Good shit LUN  Kopun (IB) / Nihiro (UR) / Macho Banana (CH) qualify at the Monkey House arcade.

shrug I mean, there’s still 6 spots left in the Kanto and Kansai regions where you see most of those names so I’m not too worried. I wish they would give us the D-1 spot team info because I have a feeling that it might be a good one (that qualifier was near kyoto which is near the a-cho arcade).

looks like this year is where one team might just plow through the rest

but who knows it also looks like this year is a year for upsets with all these low tiers…ill blow a circuit if i see a hugo, Q, or ibuki player OCV a strong team

but i guess your right 12 more spots for the strong teams LETS GOOO 3S!!! :woot:

I guess this is the result from game41:

???(??)

my god another Q player??

that’s strange.

hasn’t shuu been using akuma in the co-operation cup matches?

unusual to swap so fast in such elite tournaments.

they’re always swapping / trying other characters anyway

lol motoko

the fact that pino didn’t even try (?) to win the game41 qualifier is definitely bad news
just my assumption - let’s wait until the brackets actually come out

wow i still see familiar names on the SBO players

Eriru (CH) / Dai-chan (aka Yuuki?) (YU) / Shuu (Q) confirmed. http://www.tougeki.com/prelim?id=3780 Thanks for looking out for that ahead of time.

New report out talking about the recent tokyo qualifiers. http://www.tougeki.com/report?id=250

There’s mention of Matsuken (KE) / Kirin (CH) / Nisshi (DU) teaming up. Also, Tokura (YA) / Aiku (DU) / Pierrot (RE) teamed up but they got beat by YSB’s team. They talked about YSB’s team vs. Roshihikari’s team, and it sounds like YSB and TM were really clutch against them.

When are we expecting Tougeki ? also does anyone knows if they will still going to do a live feed?

http://www.tougeki.com/main_final

Basic schedule is there. 3S is on the 15th.

Last time, information about whether or not they were going to do a live feed came at the last minute, so I doubt anyone knows about that now. I bet they’ll go with something like last year (a few direct-feed matches, some filming of the big screen, some interviews) but not like the godliness of 2007.

yeah your right, plainly looks like experimental isn’t it?!
But who knows what will happen this year…:china:

This thread needs Aruka qualified. :frowning:

Just heard that the Denjin Arcade qualifiers ended with Ricky Ortiz (KE) / DeadEye aka ROM (YA) / Emphy (UR) beating Ken I (MA) / Kai (CH) / 5 Star (KE). Sick stuff, congrats to the winners! They said it was recorded so I guess there will be vids sometime later.

Ricky actually used Chun.

There was no direct feed as far as I know, so there’s a pretty good chance grand finals were not recorded. Which is a shame, because finals were hype and close as fuck. Some vids were recorded though, but I’m not sure if finals were.

how would you know?

PS Helicopter :clapdos:

2 recorded vids of SBO 09’ Qualifiers.

Nothing too special or anything but hey, a vids a vid…

I disagree. Perhaps there were a couple Kens that were “technically” better than Daigo (i.e. they knew more about Ken as a character), but in terms of raw winning potential, nobody was a better Ken than Daigo in his prime. I think the reason why he’s such a legend is because when he is on, there’s rarely anyone who can beat him regardless of his experience in the game. This was true in 3rd Strike, and it’s not because his Ken was better than everyone else’s, but because he has had a better Street Fighter sense than any of the other good Kens (and thus was able to win more often than them).

Congrats to Ricky, Emphy and Rom… do your best at tougeki!

Confirmed?
