Tougeki/SBO 2009 Teams

Evo: Flowchart Homo Sapiens

Some guy from 2ch posted a report of all the Tougeki 3rd Strike matches, which were shown on the big screen. Maybe somebody here with good Japanese translation skills (and a lot of free time) could write a translation?

it looks like MOV did play in the tournament besides that one match vs Momochi (i think) mightve been last chance quals

and it seems that Justin’s team wasnt OCV’d

DED beat Marn and Hsien but lost to Justin, he then lost to Derun yun

Boss OCV’d first round team easy

Kuroda MOST definitley OCV’d that first round team lol

and lastly Yaochi lost his match to bring up Kokujin as the 2nd player vs Yuurei/Koji/CHAP and proceeds to OCV there ass

again ill put an I THINK cuz in the txt file for me it looks like jibberish and it shows some players names and just based off the brackets and who’s palying who

i just went from there

Good find Buriki

now we’re finding out what rly went on over there lets just hope theres more reports

My point still remains though, all the finale teams had top tier characters in them and Kuroda did not beat any of the final chun’s/yun’s. I’m not trying to invalidate the tourny or this game, I was simply remarking over the fact that yun/chun always prevail even agaisnt a player such as kuroda…kuroda is good but he couldn’t even win a single round in the finals agaisnt the other teams whom where using yun/chun.

Fucking amazing.

I’m going to assume you are retarded. If you read the posts above, you would see that Kuroda lost to Makoto. Not Yun or Chun. Please, stop posting.

Please.

Stop being so obtuse. Kuroda lost to Momochi, who was using Makoto. He never played Boss OR Rikimaru.

Seems like after winning the last chance quals, Inoue Japan and Team Newton had to play against each other to determine their starting position in the main tournament. Kuroda pulled a win on MaJunior (did he really play Ken?) and Match, but lost to Mesters Yun. Seems like in the final round, Mester (accidentally?) did qcf p, MOV blocked it and punished with close HK Super to win the match.

Right. It says that in his match with Derun, Justin wasn’t able to do a single Super.

Hope this guy will post the next part of his report soon. Btw Denjinarcade updated their blog with a SBO report.

Wow… where should I start? You still haven’t figured out, that Kuroda lost to Makoto? Or that he beat some of the best Yun and Chun players in Japan in this tournament? Better learn your “facts” next time…

I definitely think Q vs Mak is waaaaaayyyy harder than Q vs Yun/Chun/whatever char except Ibuki…

 obtuse…i like that one ill take that haha

damn that sucks for mester

did it say Justin wasnt able to do a single super because of Derun getting on him or was it just he couldnt super for shit that day?

o ya! ROM grats on making top 8 at the post SBO tourney!! Keep it up dude

For those who care, here is the next part of the Tougeki report from 3rdchannel: http://www1.axfc.net/uploader/Sc/so/30130
Wow, OCVs everywhere! KO beasted on Team Newton, Rickys team got ocved by YSB’s Hugo. In the next round, his teammate TM single-handedly took out Tsumun (RE), Izumi (CH) and Hanabishi (YU) using Q! :looney:

Momochi also updated his blog with some talk about SBO. Seems he would have loved to see Boss vs KO in finals, but also wanted to defeat KO hisself and therefore did the best he can.

Does everyone already know? Anyway, 3rd Strike & Tekken 6 SBO7 DVD will be released with the December issue of Arcadia magazine (released 31st October).

I’m working on looking to source a copy, will get back here if I’m successful

do you know if the dvd will have all the matches? and will that issue of the magazine be any more expensive than the usu price?

Don’t know yet sowut’, I assume it would be dearer but with regards to the content, no idea, I would hope it would be at least up to last years’ SBO DVD!

I’ll post back here when my source finds something out

if anything it should have MORE than whats normally put in after the crazy shit that went down this year lol

im gonna be getting this one  fo sho

There’s no way it’ll have all the matches if both games are being put on one disc. At least it’s available two months earlier than last year.

im assuming it would be on 2 disks

after all the madness and shit if they dont have all the matches like normal thats just not fair -____-

have not yet read the last 4 or 5 pages so no idea if this is old news
but at the last chance qualifier for III knit, spellmaster j and cabetsu had formed a team
too bad they didn’t get picked while many other inferior teams got the green light from the announcer or kuni
i remember sugiyama was with ksk and a ken maybe (whose name escapes me) ?
they lost right away to a strong pink makoto (he was doing the 100 % all the time)
i really didn’t want to bug ksk but in the end i thought "fuck it"
and asked him about gamervision / ranbats
because, frankly, they need to come back asap like in 2005-2006
he said third strike is “sleeping” but will be back "soon"
that’s what i understood anyway…

and…this is not quite tougeki related but last week we were in this really shitty game center in osaka (thank you, aurik !) and hayao was there
he was every bit as beastly as ever
i have no idea why he doesn’t show up / take part in tournaments anymore :
he didn’t even play that day . he waited until free play / after the local tournament .
i think he’s the best third strike player ever . him and kuroda .
i have played against many of the big names but those 2 in my opinion are on another different level .

third strike is still alive and kicking in japan and i love this game very very much . thank you .

Ace news on KSK RanBats Fran
