Yep, they have a new KOF/SNK game each year for SBO. Last year was 98’s turn. Endless is just being retarded.
Then again it’s srk, and most of the people who said stupid stuff in this thread have never even gone to SBO.
And anyone who thinks that SBX took the spot of another game needs to count how many games there are again. There’s never been more than 9 games at SBO. They’re fitting in an EXTRA one because it’s gonna be small. They’re not taking out another game because of SBX, it’s a capcom game that hasn’t had it’s turn in SBO yet, and Capcom prolly just paid arcadia a buncha money to add their game in. MB not being in it has nothing to do with SBX being in it.
if a single elimination tournament with a random game selection each year (Basara etc.) restricted to arcade titles and no prize money is your idea of “most important and competitive fighting video game tournament in the whole world” you’re not so convincing…
Oh how I love it when people dog SBO for being single elim when that tourney format bred some of the best fighting game players ever. Single elim works for them, nothing wrong with that.
SBO has always attracted the best players for whatever is being played. Who cares about the format being single elim or if there’s no money? I doubt any of these guys are playing for money
Uh…apparently you don’t know jack shit about the Japanese scene and how they work out. Also, SBO DOES have a payout. It’s just not wild numbers like American tournies.
All Japanese tournaments are single elim, and they almost NEVER have prize money yet Tougeki actually does have some prize money. You are right though, every tournament in Japan is just some publicity stunt and none of those guys actually play seriously so who cares right? Now what everyone SHOULD be doing is going to all the hot majors in Romania! Cmon SRK, lets save up and work hard so we can compete with the best of the best down in Bucharest! YEA!
while i admit SBO has the best competition, the format leaves to be desired and that’s why i was not “too convinced” about its “undisputed” status… what’s so hard to understand?
and you douchebags jump to assume i’m repping Europe/my country as the motherland of fighting games or something bizarre like that… i actually think Evo is the best all-around tournament
Daigo in his interviews stated he likes the American tourneys more because they’re double elim
im sure 99% of the japanese players will agree with him for obvious reasons
