But really, that’s not far from the truth…after the SF4 semi finals ended, everyone took a very long lunch, not really caring about VFR. Then people were just milling in the halls during the T6BR semi’s (USA vs Japan money matches were EPIC ), then everyone came back for the SF4 finals. After those ended, a shitload of people just left. The usher ladies were trying to give people re-entry tickets and everyone was like “Don’t care, not coming back.”
Did you see the crowd during T6 semis? I would have thought that game drew its own huge crowd.
Although VF seems kinda niche.
T6 did have people watching, for sure. I’d say the arena was at least half full if not more. I didn’t get to see the VF semis at all though.
It’s just too much to watch, especially with that takoyaki place across the street calling to you
Azrael basically sums it up. The playoffs are great for entertainment, not so great for analysis. I’m just saying SBO is the same way, which is why it’s a good thing Japan has so many tournaments.
The NBA playoffs do quite well in both areas, though, as the game requires far more scoring than other sports and they play 4/7 series all the way through. I’d like to see our majors do something like this for the top placers eventually, once the resources are there.
Anyone hear about when they are planning to release the qualifier schedule?
I was thinking/hoping it will be in the March arcadia.
Not feelin that joint, pizza takoyucki dont taste as good as it sounds :x
Just to elaborate on this, the reason this is done is because the console release’s updates and new characters are always added into the arcade version at some point in Melty, so the community will use whatever is the latest as the baseline since it’ll be worked into future arcades anyway.
Games where this doesn’t happen can usually be considered somewhat valid I suppose.
If SBO dies, God’s Garden will probably take its place.
Update on Regulations:
Category A: 32 team tournament
Category B: 8 team tournament
I guess there will be no foreigner teams for Category B games
Also, Arcadia has announced they MIGHT add more games into Category B, so there might be more games to be added and will be announced around April (I suppose KOF13 might be there)
for the record, rumors are starting to speculate that there will be an arcade version of super sf4 announced in april.
rumors rumors rumors (i dont know anything please do not fucking pm me seriously this is entirely a rumor)
Is this for sure true? If so I’m really let down.
wow Catagory B only gets 8 spots total? Thats pretty disappointing… Any idea if they are simply going to have more prelim spots for each block so that there will still be lots of chances to try? It would suck if the whole qual season is over after just a few tournaments. I hope they release an official schedule in the next arcadia.
Hopefully it was just a typo and they really meant that they’re sending 8 free plane tickets to Canada, BC.
Too bad you don’t live there
Haha
Sent you a PM. I NEED to know when SSFIV is coming out.

"Henaki on the Shoryuken.com message boards mentioned he heard through a friend of a friend of a friend that the 10 new characters for Street Fighter IV Dash (Champion Edition) are: "
