I just got two Total Control Plus ps2 -> dc converters, and they’re great if I don’t need the VMU in slot 1, but when I try to play with the VMU in the slot, sometimes that VMU just stops working and the buttons begin to put themselves in a glitchy auto-fire mode. I am using official Sega VMUs and the only thing I can think of is that the batteries are dead. I know people have gotten these to work properly so I was hoping someone could help me out. Thank you.
What I do with mine is have a 3rd controller plugged in with the VMU. I mean its a pain to have that extra pad sitting there, but I don’t have any kind of issue that way.
the box does not address this issue at all. here is what it has to say:
Bad grammar and typos left intact. Perhaps the notice about the power supply has something to do with the problem. It seems strange that an HRAP would be using a lot of power though…
-Yes the Innovation adapter has a VMU support
-I am not too sure if you could do this process, but I think it will work cuz I have seen some consoles in a console tournament with a normal controller and VMU hooked to the 3rd port while playing MVC2.
haha, that’s a nice pic, but I guess I was thinking more that it doesn’t rumble or do anything that would use more power than a dual shock. I’m going to try to find a VMU without the screen and see if that makes a difference. I’d like to be able to save my high scores in triggerheart and not get the auto load error in third strike.
Comment: Thanks for the back of the box, and I noticed that a similar order is needed for a Game Elements PS2 -> Game Cube and then the Nintendo Game Cube port adapter in the Switch. If you’re using 2 adapters plug the PS2-> GC adapter first, then GC-> Switch adapter in the switch, with the power off, then finally the GC adapter, THEN turn it on.
Question 1: It doesn’t mention where in the order you plug the VMU. I would like to use that for the display as well as memory. Where exactly in the order do you plug the VMU in the VMU slot on the Total Control. I assume it’s after you plug in the dreamcast and before you power the dreamcast on. As to in between steps 1 and 2, 2 and 3, and 3 and 4, which one is it?
Question 2: And are the removal directions the exact opposite direction of the insertion ones?
Question 3: There is a switch on the right hand side of the Total Control Plus. I heard that is used for different modes, and you should probably have it set before plugging into the Dreamcast, and turn off the DC and unplug to change again. I assume they are different button mappings. With front being closest to the PS2 plug end, may I have the mappings of the 3 positions from front to back?
When you click/tap on the account name of which you’ve just quoted, here’s what you will see…
