When Toronto did go down to the US for the Ohio tourny 5 out of the top 8 spots were taken by Toronto in an 80-90+ field of 3S players. And the rest placed really well also considering the ammount of people that joined.
its interesting to note that of those 5, exactly 0 play at fl.
Pretty much because some people decided it would be much more fun to slap them in the face and record it.

Well who knows. I dont even remember half the people that actually play there unless I saw them at T8 or during our defunct event. So all I have are mostly faces but no names, save for those I recognize duly such as Eric and the like.
I will if everyone else does. Maybe you guys are right about that, but on the same token or quarter, rather, I’d like to be able to face GTA players (I wont say a word because I do take the word of others here who are far more skilled) without having to buy a weekly metropass and take three hours out of my already daily schedule to go all the way up there.
I dont care about losing in FL; yes the sticks fuck up but the only person I get mad at is myself because I do kick myself pretty hard in that game considering what I expect to do with it, which is simply to make a small profit. I just don’t like it when people I dont even know randomly come up to me and act like they know me. If that guy was a serious player and could keep up with me skill-wise, then I’d acknowledge him, otherwise he has no right talking to even me about a game he doesn’t understand as well as everyone here does. Period. I’m sorry, but I’m a very lenient, friendly person perhaps to a fault. I have to draw lines somewhere, and this is one of them; don’t act like you know me unless you are skilled. Its not that difficult to earn my respect in that department

In the grand scheme of things with all that I quoted here, perhaps the elitism should lower itself down just a tad. I’ve seen enough of it in my travels gaming elsewhere, and I dont want to see it here. I’ll lend a hand any way I can to boosting the scene, but forgive me if I like thinning the herds out.
dropthesky; you either have too much money, or are being really naive if you think good players want you to MM because it will make you better. While it does help in pressure situations, at the state you’re at, it just hurts you because no one will ever give you respect.
An example would be a certain sauga MvC2 player who constantly challenged people to money matches. He didn’t become any better because of it, and instead lost a ton of money (most of it still owed). He only became better when he befriended the two best players.
Almost everyone here who is good at a game, never got there by playing money matches just so they can deal with pressure. They became friends with people who shared the same interests as them and got better together. Playing stupid money matches only makes you an ATM machine for people who are multiple levels above you. You’ll never be respected again.

FL players should play at orbit more often…RP, Baufo, Dropthesky if you want to improve…just leave FL…its not worth it…nobody plays there and the sticks are kinda fucked up too…

If you mean INSIDE the campus, there’s a few machines in the student centre. Soul Calibur 2, SvC Chaos, 3 jitz tables, and 2 pool tables I think. That’s it.
And fun games with Quan in 3S. Even though I suck, I still stood a chance. And then he pwned me again in Marvel lol
