Toronto Thread Of Doom. Nov 2007

Jesus Christ man shut the fuck up. Why is some mid tier 3S Funland player going off on someone who just wants to be friendly? “Give him lip service?” Stop fucking acting like king shit when you’re just shit. You should be helping the cookie cutter rather than bitching on a forum where 1/2 of us don’t know you and the other half wonder why they give you “lip service.”

wow haha. 3s is serious business. Is he saying honger as in fobs? Damn racists.

lol Baofu, you need to calm down. Every time you lose in 3S, you get so upset (you’ll even walk away from the machine and pace around). It’s just a game.

He dont look friendly to me. Besides, now you’re getting the two people mixed up. Just drop the cookie cutter subject, I’m talking about someone else.

Anyway, I’ll try not to take it personally. No sense in digging a bigger hole.

LOL that must be the influence of us… do yourself a favour and never read our thread

hongers should be used only amongst chinese people like the n-word is reserved for black people.

racism is some whack shit. Baofu a FL player? What chars?

EDIT: Here’s a much more serious 3s story. So friday I go in to play a quick match before class. Only to see that there are 3 quarters down already. I peek my watch and decide I have enough time to wait and play. So I put my quarter down and wait in line, while some dude with a black hat is playing. This is one of those real shady downtown guys, he sucks, not to put him down because of that, just so you get a picture, like he doesn’t know the basiscs. When It’s my turn he tried to put his quarter in. I hold him up like, “Dude it’s my turn” And I know it’s my turn for a fact because I came in while he was playing. Now this guy is trying to shove me away from the machine. Obviously I woulda let him go if i wasn’t on a schedule. And I’m not about to let him push me around, so I shove him from the machine again, and he starts cussing and stuff. Even the people there were telling him it’s my turn. I put in the headphones and started ignoring him, and played my game.

The moral of this story? None, it was just some really wack shit. Like he wanted to fight me or something and I’m just procrastinating and writing this is a lot easier then writing an essay.

Funland…Third Strike…Don’t Fuck Around

EDIT2: For FL players, just cause I’ve started seeing him a lot recently, he’s the chinese guy that uses ryu and has a humongous wallet. It sound dumb but if you saw it you’d know. Pretty short, and might be a bit slow or something.

Too many no-names trying to get known by posting here and winning in FL casuals. What happened to going to Orbit/Gety and beating the good players? Nobody values that anymore?

Too much elitism when Toronto hasn’t won anything major in the US. Howz about people ally instead of hating on each other all day long?

I beat Gaijinblaze 20 games straight in 3S at Orbit last night. True story.

disgruntled goa, come to funland more. tuesdays and thursdays.

3s players need to stop calling each other out and help one another get better. All I see there is pointless money matches, 3 FL players get 20+ streaks day in and day out, and all the scrubs just watch there and dont even talk to each other.

I don’t have class on Thursdays so I’m usually not downtown on that day. What time do you usually go on Tuesdays?

Mihai; it’s not about elitism. If you look at some of the posts in the Toronto thread over the last few months, there’s a growing trend of marginal players bragging about their accomplishments. While many people (none more than myself) are happy to see the scene grow and bring in new players, posting about how great you are over nobodies doesn’t help anyone’s case.

If players are so good that they’re dominating their local scene, it’s in their best interest to find better competition. There are established heavy hitters at Playscape. It’s not about beling elite, it’s about being proven talent. You don’t see AdamB or Antoine going on about their win streaks on a Friday night at Playscape. That’s argueably the toughest comp in the province across every style and character. They play, they win, they move along. No one goes on about how they beat so and so. No one cries about random strangers they lost to.

qft…help one another dont do pointless MM’s and then talk shit about how u owned this scrub and that.

Angelic:

The best players don’t post much period. They win because they play, not talk. I’m just talking generally about how ppl should help each other get better and push each other. FL is not the highest level 3S spot in Toronto, but there are quite a few good players that go there pretty regularly. If those players actually helped the lesser guys out by giving them simple pointers like “Hey, don’t use Ken’s SA1, Shippu is a lot better because: etc.” then people would get better, and once people get better they lose the immature mentality of thinking they’re hot shit cause they beat some disabled dude using Twelve.

Yes, I know I didn’t really say anything about the elitist mentality that Orbit/Getty guys have when it comes to FL…but whatever.

im there sometime between 3-6:30 since I have a night class. Depends when I get downtown.

lol guys the funny thing is that

dropthesky and baofu are both talking about the same person.

i kno this because i was there with drop when the guy tried to talk his turn away.

and i was there today when that guy kept touching baofu’s coat.

lol owned.

lol when i was there on monday that same guy was there.
he’d be playing and id put my quarter down. 2 turns later hed play again and be like “its my turn”. whatever i couldnt care less. rtsd knows who im talkin about too.

but ya, you fl people need to seriously come prove yourself in orbit. enough talk thx
-mid-tier player who plays@orb

Tell someone to build an arcade 1/2 way between orbit and funland. D:

I get the feeling you may be referring to me  When it comes to money matching, I don’t think of it as calling someone out, at least in my case, I know I do terrible under pressure, It’s like I don’t have a game plan and just start doing random moves cause I get nervous. Money matching gives me experience playing in a more serious setting then just casuals. In casuals RP and I have gone back and forth, but when it comes to mm it’s close, but I’m not on the same level as hen theres nothing on the line. That just makes me want to money match more, so I can iron my nerves out, and become a better player. Don’t get me wrong RP gets all the credit for staying strong under pressure, I have nothing but respect for him, he’s given me no reason to feel otherwise, always well mannered, ggs to RP. Except yesterday you were kinda cocky, but you won so what can I say.

It’s true when it comes to players at FL though. I’ll see the same people and no one wants to talk, it’s like everyone has their tough face on and you’ll be putting yourself out if you try to start a dialogue. Not to mention the other guy could feel like Baofu and just feel like stabbing you the whole time  But I’ve talked to a few people mainly Samir and RTSD and I think it does make you better. Also, they’re pretty cool guys, (except RTSD’s yun is gay)

err, fuck, I’ve posted an essay again.

Ninja Edit: Anyone orbiting tonight?
