could i have the sagat spot?
lmfao
this made my week
You want A sagat spot and no. Didn’t you hear? It’s a popularity contest and you’re not popular.
IF it makes things any better, i dont mind having a ryu spot instead.
would it be better if teddy gets rufus spot?
budda danny should try for rufus too.
can ritchie get a bison spot? he can also uses abel pretty well. (he won mm using bison and abel vs guile matt)
I don’t even play Rufus anymore
The ppl have chosen :encore:
i want an Abel spot as well. my name is alphabetically superior than Anant’s
But if you were to put a numerical value on the letters…
I’m pretty sure Anant and Led should give up their Abel spots for superior asians, aka me and Alvin.
Seconded.
Let’s go by last name superiority for Abel spots
having the closest name to the jwong has got to count for something
Thoughts on players/changes/etc…
ABEL
Led Hendrix/DaDesiCanadian
I think this should be locked up. David is the concensus best Abel in Ontario at present. I like Anant’s Abel a lot. I’ve been playing it for months and it has shown consistent improvement.
AKUMA
There’s enough Akuma players in Ontario that it at least needs looking at further. I think Chris is a lock for one spot. I personally feel the best second choice is Edwin but he’s stuck with Fuerte because of a lack of players. If Roger was available I’d suggest subbing him into the Fuerte slot and moving Edwin here. As for other players, I’d suggest Fadi, Rey, Matt, and Vince before ItalDan.
BALROG
Simply put, there are way too many Balrog’s to put Eric in this spot. He’s the best, we can all agree on that. That being said, he’s also highly regarded with a ton of other characters that are in bigger need of players. JDK Mark should be slotted in here. He’s stepped up huge over the last few months. There are enough Ryu’s that his movement would be easy. There’s a laundry list of Rog’s that could fill the other spot. I’m not a fan of Justin being slotted mainly because he doesn’t consistently play anymore and I think there are far more dedicated and talented players in the mix. My suggestions are to Marvin (first) and then either CQ, Matt or Justin.
BLANKA
This isn’t even arguable. Ian and Calvin are the best. Let’s move along.
CHUN LI
This is going to be an odd spot. I’d suggest moving Eric out of the Rog spot and slotting him here along with Jamie. Like Akuma, I’m not in the mix because I’m slotted for Vega.
VIPER
This is like the new trendy character. We can all agree that Nameless is taking one of the spots. He’s consistently regarded as the best Viper by his peers. The latter spot is a bit odd. Personally when I think of Gerjay I think of Sim. I haven’t seen his Viper in the last month so I don’t know the major changes. With Blitz being well versed with Viper and a never ending amount of Rufus players, I’d suggest moving Blitz into the second spot.
DHALSIM
Immediately I’d put Gerjay and Dennis here. I’ve never seen NDRPWNDY play before nor ever seen him in tournament results (I could be wrong). Dennis and Gerjay really are the best Sim’s in Ontario. Eric’s making a case for himself recently as well.
FUERTE
This is process of elimination slotting. They get the spots because no one else has a clue what they’re doing with Fuerte. I’ve only heard of Edwn’s Fuerte. Daniel on the other hand is very deserving. This kid’s been under the radar for a while and I think a lot of people need to wake up and recognize his rising skill level.
HONDA
Dave’s a lock. He’s the best Honda in Ontario. I like Brandon in the second spot though I think he uses Honda just to irritate people more than anything else.
GUILE
Like a few others, Rebelo is the specialist and can’t be argued. I added Concept on PSN a week ago but haven’t seen him online to play yet. Guile’s an odd character that I’m sure a lot of the old heads like myself/Rey/Kin could pick up and sub in for the second spot easily using fundamentals. Second spot really should be up for grabs barring Concept is a monster that no one has seen.
KEN
Teddy’s name makes no sense in this spot and I don’t know why it’s here. This is pretty simple. Wilson for sure and I’d sub in SosoAwesome from Team STC for the second spot. I’d have made a case for Vince if he hadn’t dropped him within 2 weeks of picking him up as he made a lot of progress quickly. There are no other really competent Ken’s out there from what I’ve seen.
BISON
I’m going to make it clear that Tylor is better than both Hisham and Big Greek. I was confused as to why he wasn’t put in from the start but he honestly needs to be in there. If it was possible to get him, I’d suggest Mosh’s older brother (Sahar?) for the second spot. IIRC he played a solid Bison in the couple tournaments he entered earlier in the year. If not then I think there are a lot of players all in the same boat of being OK Bison players but need some kind of playoff or vote in or something. Can we import Jim Kim for a weekend?
RUFUS
I like Alex here. He’s obviously a natural Sagat player but he’s not up there with Ryan or Wing. Dice is a combo machine and plays a solid Rufus. Going with what I mentioned earlier, I’d sub out Blitzman here and you can open it up to any number of Rufus players that could do a comparable job. My first suggestion would be Danny for the latter spot.
RYU
The big Ryu debate. As I said before I’d put JDK Mark in the Rog spot. Teddy has no business using Ken but he is definitely the best Ryu for the job. If you’re keeping Mark in this spot, Teddy is a far better choice than Eric Hai. I wouldn’t have said so a week ago but after watching Eric and playing him in tourney on the weekend it was obvious to me who the superior Ryu is. Teddy deserves the slot.
SAGAT
There’s no doubt it’s Ryan and Wing. You can make a case for Mosh but if this is on 360 he’s a non factor.
VEGA
There are only two Claw players in Ontario. Kind of sick that he’s my tertiary character.
ZANGEIF
No arguements here. Jay is the perennial favourite when picking a Zangief and Jason has come out of nowhere with a monster Gief.
SUGGESTED REVISED LIST
Abel = LedHendrix/DaDesiCanadian

El Fuerte = Mr Trite/Sacojericho
E Honda = Davero/DarkGigyas
Guile = Flat Top/Heishin Concept
Ken = Wilson/SosoAwesome
M Bison = Poke Guy/Mosh’s Bro

Sagat = Virtuo/Flightwing
Vega = Nagata Lock II/NeoRussell
Zangief = Noodleman/YellowS4
Obviously final say is with the organizers. I just wanted to put something a little more comprehensive together than what’s been floating around thus far.
The problem with Rey is that he’s said numerous times he wasn’t likely to make it. Marvin wasn’t considered because I just plain forgot about him. My mistake. If Marvin wants in however, I have no problems putting him in.
What’s the deal with this sosoawesome dude?
Problem is nameless doesn’t actually exist and is just a robot so we’d have to play him online once his match is up.
Although hopefully he’s going to make the trip down so we can see this tin man in action.
I like Girth Viper and Blitz Viper. I have no faith in Nameless showing his face.
The list is decent otherwise. I say Curt just takes chun and gives drekken vega cuz its not like there’ll be any difference. Vega’s shit.
I don’t know if you guys have ever played Army Strong (XBL: Kiomonster), but he has a mean Vega.
I would like to throw my hat in the ring for one of the vega spots. How should I go about it?
I’d like a shot at second Bison spot. Tylor is a lock obviously.
End of discussion. Copy and Paste into brackets kthx.
