We made the list knowing there be alterations. Thats why I said feedback was most welcomed. We’ve already made some changes and there will be more to come. The date set is Decemeber 19th. It is only November 6th. There is alot of time between now and then. We don’t even know if all the mentioned people are even interested in coming out so getting angry over spots at this point, 6-7 weeks before the event, is retarded.
Hi, just to clear up a few things.
Firstly, people (Matt) have been complaining about the way people are chosen for the team. Me and Led have never claimed any sort of legitimacy in the player selection method. From the beginning, it’s always been about having a fun exhibition tournament, not an event to please the egos of mediocre players. If I wanted noodleman as Gief because I liked the color of his eyes, and if Led wanted Nagata as Chun because Nagata promised him 3 pounds of cocaine, then that’s the selection we’re running with. We’ve been completely open about this from the beginning. ** If we’re taking the effort and time to organize this thing, then we do it our way**. It’s also why me and Led have permanent auto spots for Abel. Don’t bother suggesting alternates for that character. :wgrin:
That being said, our intention was never to throw out a “fuck you” to the rest of the community. It’s the entire reason this thread was made. The list right now is still a huge work in progress, and we need your suggestions.
Ian; if you think sosoawesome is a great Ken player and will be willing to come out for this, I have no qualms about kicking Teddy off the Ken spot. How good is Chyna? If he’s really good, we’ll run with Tylor and Chyna for the two dictators.
And now for the other issue; console characters.
I understand that people are going to be ticked off at the non-inclusion of console characters. I can think of four people off the top of my head who got screwed by this, Kymah, Danny, Tactix, and Rey. There are two reasons we’re iffy about console characters. The first is that it’s hard to find two people who play a console character almost equally well. For example, Tactix has an amazing Gouken, but are there any other Goukens on his level who we could put in?
But that’s not even the biggest issue. The biggest issue is time. Even though there are only 34 players, this is not a conventional tournament, it’s a giant team tournament. We’re still trying to hammer out a format that won’t take up an entire day, and that’s just with 17 players on each team. I already wanted to throw out lesser played characters like Vega, but there seems to be enough demand for them.
So that’s the deal; no offence if you got left out or screwed. Obviously there are limited spots, and it’s nothing personal.

If anyone’s got suggestions for replacements, please make sure they are willing to come out. It would be a huge hassle to switch a person out only to find the replacement never wanted to go in the first place.

USUALLY I would do alphabetical and Anant would win but since Anant lost his console and Led gained 2 different ones and has been playing… Led wins other than that, Trite has the best Abel.
