I wouldn’t mind setting down some ground rules but to be honest I don’t know how much I’d be able to adhere to them myself, nevermind enforce them. The first issue is that Jinrai and I split the forum. He moderates everything from Manitoba going west. I moderate Ontario going east. We each have a very different approach to moderating. Paul seems to have taken a more hard nosed approach, complete with firing off Infractions.
For myself, I basically know everyone in Ontario and Montreal and treat them as friends more than anything else. The threads within the Canada forums are basically meeting points for friends so the latitude I’m willing to give people as it concerns spam, links, language, etc is pretty wide. It’s just a bunch of buddies shooting the shit. If something really sticks out (Stephen’s overuse of “***” comes to mind) I’ll levy a warning about it but everyone around here is pretty good about sticking to the rules so my job is relatively easy.
I’m not a big fan of instantly rocking the boat. Just the announcement that it was going to happened spawned about 75 posts worth of shit talk and whining. If I’d just merged the threads without warning it would have caused major problems. I figure a new year and a new thread is about due and everyone got fair warning.
I am not gonna go find previous posts thats scattered around everywhere, but Gety is a good arcade considering the rest of them are all dying and the management dont give a damn, at least Gety does.
Ya dont take my post seriously, but you’re all fags. Seriously.
