Is there even a point to making one of these anymore?
Starting in January 2009 I’ll be closing the Lovegety thread and putting an end to the Toronto monthlies. There’s only one active aracde left and it doesn’t make sense to have two threads going.

Yes, the Toronto thread will be the only Toronto based thread as of January.
But Lovegety is not in Toronto, it’s in Markham. So does this mean the Sauga/Hamilton/Brampton and all those other gimmick threads will be closed too? If not, then what’s to stop me from making a Markham thread for actual matchmaking discussion?
I just don’t want to read through all the useless shit that happen in the monthly threads, which could all go in general discussion anyway and has nothing to do with matchmaking. I’m a busy guy, I don’t have time to read through noodlespam until I get to a post relevant to the discussion.

keep the getty thread alive, make one single toronto thread.
Clearly, we’ve separated ourselfs in two groups anyway. Like nazir said, i don’t want to read through 10 pages of spam before i get to something getty related.
There is no point in having two Toronto based threads. Regardless of whether Lovegety Station is in Richmond Hill, it’s players are all based out of Markham/Toronto. It’s literally the only arcade left considering Playscape has been abandoned. As such, I decided to just fuse it into one Toronto thread. The Brampton thread will be dropped next year. Sauga/Hamilton both have enough players unique to their area to warrant their own threads though I don’t think monthlies are warranted anymore. The days of Sauga post whoring 1000 posts a month are long over.
The Lovegety thread has just has much “useless shit” as any other thread in here. It’s a really weak attempt on your part to say you don’t want to read through spam when it’s no different than any other spam. Until I modded up and had to read all of it, I had quite a few people on my ignore list. If you have a problem with a particular users posts, I suggest putting them on your ignore list.

I don’t see how it’s a weak attempt when the matter of fact is that the useless shit started popping up in the gety thread when SF4 came out and brought all the noodlespam and dadesispammer into that thread.
I don’t have a problem with a particular user’s posts. I have a problem with spam. If someone makes posts worthwhile to read or relevant to the discussion, I’ll read them. So until there’s a way to filter spam posts and relevant posts, your suggestion does not solve the problem.
I think you need to take off the filter you apply to the posts that involve your friends and realize how much of it is completely useless crap. How much “OH THAT KEIF (CAPS PLEASE)” do I need to read? How much “let’s camp today” do I need to read? How much “let’s get this food, no lets get that food, no noodles are better than fish” do I need to read? That’s not matchmaking. That’s not anything. It just comes with the territory of friends all being in one spot. You just learn to live with it. The only difference is that Jason and Anant aren’t good buddies of yours so you like to lump them into garbage posts while your own friends run rampant with their own shit.
No it’s really not what you think it is. I hate ForestBlazer’s posts too, all his posts are basically riding John’s dick, but his posts happen like once per page, not 10x per page. And the “let’s camp” posts wouldn’t occur if the gety thread wasn’t being full of spam by all the new people so that others would decide to camp the thread instead of actually working at work.
You should go back to the gety thread and read the older pages before everyone started spamming it. Just try to go to the older pages and tell me if you can find PAGES worth of spam, like what it’s like now, and then maybe I would agree with you that I’m just shitting on a certain few people.
The increased spam (and it is an incrase, not the beginning) is a by-product of people who actually go to Lovegety. I know you love your thread because you created it and it was a seperation between you guys who were smart enough to leave and everyone else who hold onto ORBIT until it was total crap. But Playscape is on its last legs and Funland no longer exists. Lovegety is the only place left. As such the players migrate, the volume of posts increase and yes the spam posts will increase. It comes iwth the territory, you’ll have to live with it. BTW you’re guilty of spam just as much as anyone else, it’s just a far smaller volume. Read your very first post starting in September.
since you’re calling me out all the time for spamming, please find me a page where i’ve even made more than 2 or 3 posts on one page were i wasn’t doing “matchmaking”.
It’s October now, so I spam like once per month. Thanks for looking at the bigger picture lol…

But regardless, to stop everybody from killing each other, why not just keep 1 toronto thread and the getty thread?? I bet if getty people actually cared about the toronto thread this would get much more posts (in fact, if i didnt see nazir post here i wouldnt even check here), but asides from that, we have our own spam, you have yours
1 arcade doesn’t mean there can only be 1 thread, while it does make more sense, if people don’t like the idea, people don’t like the idea.

Simply put, the Toronto thread no longer has the legs to warrant its own thread. The Lovegetty thread is averaging about 500 posts per month, moreso since SFIV hit a little while back. The spam issue quite frankly is irrelevant. Everyone is guilty of it on some level, myself included. There were two pages based almost entirely on harassing K2’s girlfriend for permission for him to attend a tournament for pete’s sake. The merger is a logical move to clear the clutter. Nazir has already dropped the subject (shocking to be honest) and my decision has already been made. Let’s move along…
no, i’m not. I post in getty thread regularly, but not “10x” per page as you say. seriously, find me a page or stop calling me a spammer in the getty thread.
Actually, Jay and Fil have showed up more regularly, as well as Sean, Quan and Ryan. I’ve seen them there almost every time i’ve been there.
i dont know any of those people but jay and fil so i wouldn’t know. And i barely go on saturdays. As usual i make posts without knowing my info :looney:
anyway, lets move on… the only real reason i was into this issue is because im bored at work 
y cant we just keep the getty thread and make that one the offiial toronto thread, rather than having to delete it ?
I feel for NAzir because he made a completely sucessful thread wich brought up new posters and to see it deleted is really such a waist, like if you look at the B.C thread they just made that one its official thread.
