Plus people are starting to realize that Ken still needs to work to win and that he is not broken top tier. Once the sudo-scrubby Ken players, who think their mp,hp,xxFB,xxSA3 is enough to win, face a good Chun or Yun they see why Ken doesn’t win for free. Honestly people need to stop complaining about tiers in 3S because compared to most fighters it’s pretty balanced. I’ve never lost to a YCK player that I thought wasn’t better than me, and I’ve never felt at a major disadvantage when fighting against YCK unless I’m using a character under the mid tier. Now it’s true that Akuma is almost top tier but he is never placed in the same catagory as YCK, yet I still don’t feel that I am going into a match disadvantaged, if I lose to Samir I don’t think “Fucking Yun, I could beat him if he wasn’t a teir whore!”, I think “Who the fuck is this 16 year old douch and why is he beasting on everyone?”.
Now don’t get me wrong, I understand that there are some abusive matchups (Akuma vs Hugo and Yun vs Q come to mind) but for the most part you can win with any of the cast if you are truely better than your opponant. 3S isn’t MVC2 (where like 3/4 of the cast can’t do shit against MSSC) i feel that any char between Yun and Ryu, Urien, Ibuki, mid tier group can win. 3S tiers are based off matchups mostly and the difference between top tiers and mid teirs tends to be that the top tiers rape the low tiers better than the mids do, that’s why they’re top. But most mid tiers vs top tiers are either 5/5 or 6/4 and maybe the rare 7/3, so it is hardly one sided.
Back to the subject of Cocky Ken players I have noticed a significant decline, at least at DTFL, and I’m placing the blame soley on Samir for that at least for downtown. And as far as uptown goes, they’re allowed to be cocky if they can beast on the high level Orbit/Ghetty players but so far I’ve never seen it. Honestly what we need to see less of is this pussy -ass “play for fun” bitch-fuck nonsense. I’m sick of seeing mercy rounds and having retards complain about throws and chip kills. FOR THE LAST TIME, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS CHEAP!!!
Everyone needs to change there atitude and stop using fun as an excuse for scrubby play and poor reaction time. The only way to get better is to have fun while PLAYING TO WIN. Throwing teaches mind games, chip kills teach positioning and meter management, Genei-jin teaches strategy and game plans, and cr.mk super teaches counter poking. These scrubs who bitch about these things are just lazy or stupid and all the serious players need to ignor their bullshit and let them know to use whatever they can to fight tooth and nail for there victory. It’s okay to go easy on these players and maybe play a little riskier to be flashy but the second they start taking away from your wins by calling “cheap” on our tactics we need to put them in their place and teach them that this kind of bitching won’t be tolerated by serious players who are playing to improve the quality and substance found in the Canadian fighting game community.
