  • I almost bought one on boxing day from Best Buy, there’s one listed at $899 but it comes with a 22" LCD. I thought it was pretty good for a q6600/3GBRam/640GB, and its the final price not a rebate. But they told me I have to wait 3 hours because they have to install Norton and other software (not advertised) and the total cost is around 1000 plus tax. haha fuckin scam. I guess this is their M.O. get people waiting so they’d feel defeated enough by the end and just pay for it.

  • I don’t really do a lot of gaming, just want to be ready for StarCraft 2 (and run the Dreamcast emu). haha. Only games I play on the computer are Red Alert 2 and Broodwar still. lol.

  • Not really doing much graphics, I’m still on MSpaint and PS7, haha! I don’t think I’m gonna try CS anytime soon.

  • Don’t really have much old hardware. I’m just going to transfer the contents of the old IDE drives onto the large new one.

The only thing those BB/FS packages skim on are the GPUs, but like you said, you won’t game/graphic much; so you could get away with the GPU until SC2 comes out. Too bad about them wanting to install faggot apps on the system lol. You could just format the whole system again!

I don’t know when they plan on dropping the quad price, even if they do, it won’t be the kind of $$ you see with the current q6600. I think the next Q67+ and QX series chips are still going to hover around 400 and up.

haha, I think I broke the terrabyte porn barrier this year.
I don’t even get to use RS that much, I gave a way like 10 free accounts this year, traded two for megaupload.

I’m fine with the HDDVDrips, google + rapidshare is almost unstoppable. lol, even with my two favorite rapidshare sites closing last month.

lol the only link in it is the link to the case. i still firmly believe it is the best bang for the buck, period.

if someone can find a combo of a solid case with a solid psu (with modular cables no less. trust me this comes in handy big time when ur making it) then show it.

also one other thing:
if ur not that much into graphics, i recommend getting a silent solution. get a vid card that is fanless and just uses heatsinks to keep cool.
your vid card (especially if u get an aftermarket CPU fan) will be the most noisy component by far. if u dont want that sound, get what i recommended.

Canada Computers actually had the Antec P150 with NeoHE 430W PSU for $69 last week, but you can’t find it anymore.

The old Ultra X-Connect PSUs used to be terrible - they may have improved the newer ones.

i have a coolermaster 850W running with a single 8800 gt right now. was trying to get another 8800 gt on boxing day so that i could SLI it but they sold out on the first hour lol. well looks like now i gotta wait until february to see if the prices for geforce 8 drops when geforce 9 comes out.

Why would you get such a powerful PS for your system? Ppl, don’t fall for the hype…you don’t need that much power! When my 7900 GT fucked up (3 times), they would try to BS me and ask if I had enough power going to the 12 rail and dumb shit like that. Don’t listen to ppl who feed you that bull.
