I was thinking about using mobo risers too

the holes shouldn’t have to be too big

I’m still going to use this one for my PCBs…

Where are you going to drill the holes? on the side of the case? or the top?
I can’t seem to find these anywhere… i went to a few electronic part place and they don’t have it
you only need a small hole… so you can do to the bottom side of the top panel…

I only found that accidentally in one of a small japanese shop (Daiso) here in SG… I bought 4 packs (8pcs inside).
I’m just having a hard time finding sandpapers here in SG with 800-2000 grit.
i can send you some sandpaper if you still cant’ find it by the time i mail your box

COD? Really?!?!
Here you go PPPP. Here is my discussion with tracer1 on how to mount pcbs. This is my test mount of axisdapter and cthulhu on mdf … I was afraid the mdf would be too ‘powdery’. But it holds just fine.
I used 3/32 bit and #3 6mm screws … you can prolly use the motherboard screws like chimster has in his pic. We are all computer guys and MUST have a ton of these lying around … :wonder:
motherboard riser are the way to go. I did the same in my box and im happpy!
Wow… that’s great… if you have 600,800,1000,1200,1500 & 1800 grits please send me 4pcs each. Include that to the boxes that you’ll gonna send to me… and also include that to my billing.
Thanks joe!
PPPP, Canadian pressure (arr4w, chimster, sillypuddy, gns) to use computer risers to mount the pcb’s
j/k
Actually, I’ll just go through Paypal. I PM’d you a few days ago with my mailing address, could you PM me back with costs?
lol I can feel the heeeeat! :xeye:
My problem is I have to find the drill bits and risers/screws…I might have open up one of my older boxes and steal some! haha
my risers were leftover i had in a motherboard box. I had a milllllion screw but only 6-8 risers.
Daiso sells them? I’ll go check the one in Richmond here in BC. I’ll probably stick with the motherboard screw though, smaller footprint, looks cleaner.
that’s a lot of sandpapers, I’ve used 400, 600 and 1500 on my box.
i got them from Sayal electronics… $1 per bag of 10-15

@nuropa
Can you post your finished box? I just want to know how shinny it is on 1500 grit.
This is my first time I’ll be doing sanding, spray painting, creating quick disconnects… and also I created a Paypal account to buy things for this project (arcade stick).
It’s ok for me to buy more than having insufficient materials when I’m making my sticks.

can i be added to the waiting list if people back out of this batch? Thanks :wgrin:
I used two MB risers to mount my madcatz retro pcb. made a couple holes and superglued them (the risers) down on the mdf. Holds nice.
