Yeah I’m personally not a big fan of it myself. The whole reason I like fighting games is that almost anyone can get into it. If you have the physical capability to learn how to play the piano or type 60 words a minute on a keyboard you can play fighting games. That’s almost anyone who wants to put enough effort in to do it. I think the main reason is just that there’s an obvious skill gap and trying to make a spotlight for women SFIV players.
In the end it’s not a big deal though because the skill gap is only due to women’s lack of “nerdy competitive frame data crunching no shower taking or regard for looks guy” mentality than the fact that they physically don’t have the capability to play as well. It’s not like our minds overpower theirs just because a bunch of men and only 2 or 3 women probably helped in the production of the first SF game. Apparently women have a better sense of memory than men do so if anything I feel in the future women could be the queens of fighting games. If a girl wants it bad like we do…they’ll go for it and take it just like we do. Except they take showers I think.
We may have seen some of them on the Gods Garden stream. I remember a Sagat with some great execution and the girl who won the whole thing was like a female Mizoteru. The girl was just using the most annoying methods to win. Great strategy though since she did win, just frustrating to deal with if you’re facing her.

shit, I dusted off my dreamcast and played some marvel vs capcom 1 and I dusted off my PS2 and played tekken 3 and Tag the other day cause I was pissed at SF4. Even played a little 3rd Strike, even though I’m not a fan.

You play tekken tag? There were A LOT of girls that played tekken tag back in the day (like 10 years ago) and they were actually quite good and would enter tournaments.
I remember a top korean female player came over to a California tournament once to attend a TTT tournament and had some good matches with another famous US female.
