Top 3 Guile players in the world?

i was skeptical at first, but after seeing the recent Gods Garden videos… Yazu is probably the best Guile in the world right now… previously, I was only able to find videos of him from a year ago and I was not impressed… he didn’t seem as solid as Yoshio, or even flashy as niconico… but after seeing him go head to head with Yoshio, I can say this guy has nerves of steel… his #1 BP is no joke…

I think these matches are an example of waht Dagger means by using Guile like a wall. That is some very solid Guile play there. He kept everything in front of him.

and they make it looks so easy too, like that shit is almost free… but its definitely not, anyways good stuff guys for answering my question so well. I bet against those guys Bison couldn’t even pulll in a win, well maybe but they are for sure the reason the Japanese find this Guile v Bison ssuch a bad matchup. I think that its an even match up unless the Guile is really good at turtling, if they try to go aggro thats when Guile looses to Bison.

Also Wavy I got a tip for you. Quit sweeping me when I have meter or ultra, cause you know I’m gonna punish that shit like 90% of the time. oh and learn to FADC flashkicks so you can do them on wake up safer.

But the only way Guile could ever beat Bison was through turtling. Even back in the CE days it was like this. Not sure why people all of the sudden get the bright idea to start rushing Bison down.

In Japan, I’d have to say Yazu, Fujisawa, then Yoshiwo. Yoshiwo doesn’t seem to be doing as well lately. Yazu and Yoshiwo both play very solid and safe, while Fujisawa is a little more flashy and aggressive.

Otherwise, Dagger_G is probably the best non-Japanese Guile. Mod1ns1d3 is flashy and knows a lot of cool tricks, but he also makes a lot of mistakes and is relatively unproven offline.

I deffinatley know what you are saying here, however i play many Dictators in both tournies and on XBL and i would have to agree with a 6-4 minimum in Guiles favor. Although a rush down is hard to defend, Guile is built to zone and prevent just that. Also i dont believe that Dictator’s switch ups are that great and besides his quick combos and relentless aproach he become harmless.

  1. Head stomp, back up fp
  2. DR, make em land sonic boom.
  3. SK punish with come,fk, and if mk or fk SK then trade blows, aticipate OR BLOCK
  4. Once you stop him on the ground hell go stright to the air and you punish with throws.

Id say im a decent guile (No Dagger) but competitve for most and i would say that Dictators for the most part are CAKE!

at the end of the day…it’s all a matter of who you feel comfortable playing against. i never seem to have major problems against blanka, yet everyone says how much of a bad match that is for guile. when i play as ryu or sagat against a guile, i feel like i shouldn’t ever lose to guile…and it’s either totally my fault or they are awesome if i do lose. i know i said bison beats guile. what i should have said is that i don’t feel that same advantage in this match whatsoever.

yes, even i know bison doesn’t beat guile, just for some reason i really seem to struggle with rush down bison. non rush down doesn’t phase me at all. 90% of all bisons i play aren’t a problem, just against that other 10% (the type of bison that geom loses to in the first post of this thread) make me feel that i don’t have any sort of advantage. against someone like rose, i feel like i have an advantage with guile.

abel is regarded 5-5 right? i disagree with that one too

Ok, I have awesome news and not-so-awesome news.

First off, I just played against Yoshio out in Yokohama! No shit! I didn’t even notice at first until he won and I deciphered the kana in his name. After a couple others lost to him, I came back and won the next match. The next person I played ended up beating me and Yoshio was gone before I could (attempt) to talk to him.

The not so awesome news…

… he was playing Ryu.

Not a very fantastic Ryu either. He was only a B+ at 15k bp or so. Not sure if this is a permanent switch of characters or what, but I hope not because it’s interesting to watch him play Guile.

I was briefly in yokohama during my holiday back in December. I didnt know where the SF4 machines were. Besides i only had 3 hours available to kill at the time when i visited. Hell, i found it is a bit like chinatown and my GF didnt want to be there for very long.

Some of the Japanese Ryu’s were solid, but yet not at the ver very top level but were still tough opponents. Winning some games against them was somewhat satisfying, but I can never see any top Guiles defeating Mago or Daigo. Mago convincingly defeated Yoshiwo once upon a time, but it shows how well Mago can wear down his opponents.

Momochi (akuma) and Maida Taison (boxer) are 2 players that I have seen who are capable of beating Daigo.

Machi is a guile player with solid skills but i think he now mains Akuma

I’ll be playing rebelo in a mirror race to 7 for the best guile in Canada title next week… our match will be recorded and uploaded… stay tune…

loll your going to end up puting urself in more debt

I can’t really say that beating someone else in a mirror match results in a better player. For instance, I main Guile and if I beat player X in a mirror match, it’ll mean that I’m better in a mirror match. And that could just be that. I could suck against the rest of the cast.

You should have a circuit to go through instead and see how many people you win. Have a handful of players (ideally with different mains) and play them in the same order. That should be a better representation.

There is something this Canadian Guile must see.

the final score in the $600 money match and for best guile in canada rebelo 7 js master 3 lol easyest 600 dollers i can ever made
