Attention fellow players of New England,
The first official ranking battle is scheduled for:
***Saturday October 15th, 2005. 6:00PM Sharp! **

Ranking battles will then continue and be held every other Saturday. This schedule may be modified due to circumstances beyond our control (ie: Holidays, Flood, Fire…)
If you are not here on time you will not be allowed to enter the ranking battle scheduled for that day, but you may enter again in the other upcoming battles.
We strongly encourage everyone to attend the first ranking battle as you will be able to establish yourself and your seeding sooner.
So before we go any further, let’s do this:
Q. What are ranking battles?
A. Ranking Battles are part of a system where competitors are ranked from champion all the way to the bottom rung. The ranking establishes a list where those people on the list, or newcommers, can establish themselves at a certain rank or climb to a higher rank and know where they stand officially.
(Point System in the Ranking Battles)
Ranking:
1st place - 4 points
2nd place - 3 points
3rd place - 2 points
4th place - 1 point
Everyone’s points will be tracked on the Tokyo Game Action website: www.tokyogameaction.com
This way everyone can see the current rankings and know where they stand. The more you participate, the more points you get, the higher your rank will be. Very fun, very simple.
With these points you will gain: Respect, Pride, and Honor! Wait, there is more! Here are the prizes/rewards you get from ranking Top 4 in these battles:
#1 = FREE entry fee in the “Seasonal” tournament, and FREE pay per play JUST for that game you ranked 1st in.
#2 = FREE entry fee in the “Seasonal” tournament for the game you ranked 2nd in.
#3 = $3 in tokens spending which ever way you desire.
#4 = $1 in tokens.
Ranking Battles will be held on the following games:
*Capcom vs SNK 2
*Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike
*Marvel vs Capcom 2
*Guilty Gear XX Slash
*The Rumble Fish 2
*Super Street Fighter II X (aka Turbo)
*There must be a minimum of 8 competitors in each game for the ranking battle to be held. *
**“GAME SPECIFIC RULES”

Capcom vs SNK 2

You must stick with the same team THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE ranking battle just for that day. This is just to avoid Counter Teams, stick with your BEST team.

CvS2 will consist of one match only. This is just to get things rolling and not stay up till 3 a.m. to finish. (Finals will still be one match, unless someone comes back from the Loser’s bracket and resets the score.)
*All other games will be best 2 out of 3 matches. *
The Rumble Fish 2
- Debating whether or not to have (sub)Bosses playable: Beatrice, Greed, and Hazama.
Super Street Fighter II X
- Not sure if it’s possible, BUT if Gouki is actually selectable, he will not be usable in the battles.

In order for you to enter in these ranking battles, YOU MUST REGISTER a user name on www.tokyogameaction.com

When you arrive at TGA, you must come to a staff member and introduce yourself saying you are here for the ranking battles. Once you do that, you must give the person: your USER NAME, GAMES you are entering, and CITY/STATE you are from.

Each game is pay per play only, there are no hidden or extra fees. Just come in, play and have fun; again veryyy simple.
LAST NOTE:
I (Gavin), have always mentioned about taping/recording matches and posting them online, well you know what? I will! As soon as the website comes back up, I will start posting up casuals/Evo 2k5 footage/ECCX footage/and Ranking Battle footage. I will do my best to give every TGA attendee what they ask for as long as I am available and have time in doing so.
- i.e. Everyone has been asking about the Evo2k5 footage I have, and they are wondering if they can see them.
Of course you can! As long as you guys support us, WE (Tokyo Game Action) will do everything in our power to return it back to you TWO FOLD! Well seeing as the 15th is my birthday it looks like I’ll have to miss the first one, but I’ll be at the second one. Oh and thanks again for the dvd. Some nice matches on there displaying Nestor’s hilarious “I only lost because I fucked up and am way better than you still” face.
haven’t been able to see the dvd yet, my dumbass dvd player says that it should play dvd+r, but it really doesn’t. Newayz I’ll peep those matches later.
