I agree with Justin on the status of the CvS2 scene, but that’s why I picked the characters that I have now, and it’s all that much more fun.
Anyways, did you fucks get in Melty Blood yet? The NYC crew is pretty much only coming if you guys get that in, though I’d like to come regardless of that.

This was cross posted in a recent GTASF tourney thread but warranted being put here:
I elected to pull out of the event after Team Hate couldn’t get their act together and it put me in a position of taking time off work unpaid and organizing our players for something that may or may not go down the way it was supposed to when it first started. It’s a big investment for us to make a 10 hour drive to an event that may not have the best players to play against. I didn’t even see Nestor make a follow up post saying he’s changed his mind (I don’t track related threads if it was made there) nor do I know if Joel can even get the day off work.
My lack of saying anything up to this point has nothing to do with respect. There are players who still want to attend and are finalizing plans to make sure they’ll have a car and funds to do it. For me to announce that the GTASF wasn’t attending while another respected member of the group looks to be able to take the reigns in my place would have been hasty on my part. When I know (or he knows) whether the GTASF can still attend in the next day or two, we’ll post when we have something concrete to actually say. Anything else would be speculation at best and not worth ruffling feathers.
On a related note, my presence as a player wouldn’t have affected this event anyway. The only difference here is that the GTASF has to find a different driver. The participants aside from myself are the same. It’s not the end of the event if I don’t show.
Phil; while you can be commended for your effort in supporting your US scene, not all of us are willing to make 8 - 10 hour drives for small events or even large ones. If you have the time and discretionary funds to make the trips, all the power to you.

But frankly I pretty much agree with you. There was a lack of communication, but really it’s shitty that it turned out like this and I hope it somehow still works out. Always good to face new opponents.

Just to clear up once again from my side of the field. We have 3 teams of 5 players for 3 games: CvS2, 3s, and MvC2. And yes Nestor and Smoothcat will be coming, along with the rest of our crazy crew members.
So if you guys can’t come down due to some personal issues or what have you, then hey shit happens right? But i’ll tell you guys (GTASF) one thing: We really would like you guys to come down especially since you called us out in the first place :lovin: I guarantee you all that it will be a fun time (regardless whether or not Canada shows up). The place will be OFFTHEHOOK with our crazy commentators, the strong beastly competition, and the comfortable friendly atmosphere.
i can guarantee u that this part of the statement would not be in there if i hadn’t shown interest in the thing. n also i thought that friendly and comfortable were not characteristics of team Fel8.
