Someone needs to contact Nagata Lock and see if Canada is even still coming to this. Because after Smooth and Nestor started bullshitting and saying they weren’t coming, he posted that he might reschedule, and we haven’t heard from Canada since.

Now there’s a new thread about a tournament in Canada on January 6th mentioning Gerjay and Jiggabry, who are supposed to come to this event.

A few personal notes and notes on the scene.

Im taking a couple months away from tournaments until Montreal Annual Tournament, which is scheduled for late March, and then a couple months after that until ECCXII. This hiatus includes TGA, which I am officially pulling out of. I wont be organizing any tournaments or participating in them either. Its not an I quit thing. I will be back playing Alpha 3, Marvel and hopefully Accent Core. Ill be leaving directing duties to whoever wants to step up in my absence.

I have absolutely no interest in playing CvS2 any longer. The game has been dying a slow death for years and yesterday was the nail in the coffin for me. I actually told Cyrus months ago that if it couldnt break 16 at Countdown that I would give it up. The game isnt any fun anymore. Theres only so much A Vega/Bison/Blanka or K Cammy/Blanka/Sagat (slight variations obviously) before you just get sick of it. While Marvel may use the same characters, theres at least cool situations and creative resets to keep interest. Good luck to everyone trying to keep that game alive.

I talked to Calvin about getting Accent Core into ORBIT ASAP and he agrees it should be a priority. AC is truly the last great game the 2D scene looks to be getting and I encourage everyone to give it a try while itll be fresh. Hopefully Simon gets his act together and buys this game so we can try and revitalize a rather stagnant scene.

I also addressed the mount issue for the stick for Marvel. Hopefully they get that replaced in the next couple weeks (realistic optimism there) so we avoid situations like an eight way split (odd but fair).

looks to me like Canada was just afraid to make the trip…if I can drive 8+ hours to go to Virginia, and that tournament wasn’t even a special versus challenge like this TGA was, I think they could have easily made it out. Looks like they realized they had no chance anyway

oh well, good luck to him playing shitty games, this is pretty disrespectful to just do this with no word but I guess you have to get used to it when it comes to Street Fighter.
