Not so much anymore aside from maybe that match at Gameworks. I’ve got answers for it now though. I just have to be on point.

Congrats to Shredder on his win.
Great showing from 253, "who’s free now?"
Great games from all that I played.
Thanks to the Dojo Masters for hosting us after the Gameclucks tourney.
In poker we call the guy one spot out of the money the bubble boy, not sure what it’s called in fighting games, but it sucks just as much.
Shoutouts:
Uriah running out to get wings.
BitQ showing up after 3 weeks of closet training.
That wheelchair hydro flooring Duggish.
Ronnicle’s drunken banter and godlike empty jump spacing with Ken.
FineLikeWine’s win over Riki-oh in the run back.
Hurricane Chris’ 2nd place and his win in Winner’s Finals
Me having to always face the same two guys in every tourney (Shredder and FineLikeWine)
Thanks for the uploads Barry. That comeback was so too sick. I was losing my fucking mind in those matches against Jeff. Fun to rewatch Grand Finals though… then think about how easily Chris beats me with Fei in AE now. Perfect yard stick for which to measure Abels nerfs and Fei’s buffs.
Bitq, when you’re sitting on 95% life and your opponent is sitting on 5%… I bet you know the rest.
Greg & Uriah, thanks for letting me and slash stay the night. We were in great need of a roof over our heads that night and we appreciate it greatly.
Drunken banter? I hope it was Terrance level.
Also,
Real life taunts are godlike.
3rd strike is a good game. Thanks for letting me body you Greg, I just needed a little while to get used to 3rd strike again and I was on top.
The obsidian has fallen!
White Ken now sits on the throne!
Dugg was smoking a lot that night, he didn’t know what he was talking about. He would never want to embarrass himself with a promise like this that he cant keep.
Awesome. Let’s throw a 20$ money match stake on top of that first round match? =D
What a funny money match/ rivalry. I’d favor Dugg in 2 months if he actually cared.
Left ya some comments Barry!
Yo in ae I play him in a bad match up too, but I guess I know the char. I got some pro-tips vs him that you sometimes use but I don’t think notice how successful they are.
could be. i only use tricks that ive discovered at grind nights and such and mostly to defend and punish chicken wing but Chris doesn’t use them much. It’s mostly c.MP/c.MK/Rekkas. I could stuff a lot of Fei’s pokes with step kick in Super but in AE I’d say over 15% of the damage he gets on me is just in Counter Hit bonuses. We played like 30 matches and I couldn’t figure out anything to counter his c.MP. Even if I FA it, Fei can recover, mash back dash, and avoid the focus attack all together so I don’t even get that free dash.
I’ll spend more time and GW and figure it out but for now… it seems like I’m going to need a counter pick. Thinking Guile.
lol more like 3 weeks of no SF. ggs that ultra was sick. I need to work on my patience… especially after getting ultra’d like that. I immediately start doing unsafe drills…
the first page has been updated with the schedule:rock:
let me know who will be in attendance for what:china:
2 things H chris does alot- Focus attack as AA. As well as cMP->rekkas. Jump in attack->backdash ino a punish is hilarious to the first one. There are many punishes to it though. cMP->rekkas is also quite punishable IF you are looking for it. I’d guess to say ex rekka would be a good counter. Also since he AAs with focus alot you get alot of free jump ins on him. Using jumping light attack into a normal throw is super effective too (something you do sometimes but I don’t think notice it works everytime). Those are just a few of my noted exploitable points about him though. Not tryin to give away them all =)
I’ve been workin on my in-game adapting game as of late. Its something I’m weak on and I don’t really adapt until maybe the 3-4th game which doesn’t really work in tournament. Probably the single most important skill once combos/punishes/match-up specifics are taken care of.
roll call!!
Grind session tomorrow night! whos comin out?? This is a great oppourtunity to practice against strong players in preparation for tomorrows tournament in portland and MHC’s event the following saturday at the best western.
MvC3 2v2’s and WINGNIGHT coming soon!!, check the updated schedual on the first page and check out our HIGHLIGHTED VIDEO towards the bottom of the first post.
-Greg :china:
Noted. Adapting quickly is something that does take me a few games. I lost to Chris in Winners Finals but went something like 3-0 and 3-0 on him after that. If I were quicker at learning my opponents I might not have lost in winners finals. I’ll work on it.
Gonna bring a full car from way north down tonight. Should be one new face to the dojo!
sounds good kuenai! thanks for the heads up!:china:
good games eman u left pretty early, u too good for us now ;)…why am i the only one that gets drunk at toe-fus, u all make me feel like an alcoholic lol…ppl will remember the stupid shit that comes out of my mouth too
Girlfriend excuse, mah bad I usually play all night. We need sessions though, one day of sf a week is not cuttin it for me.
Thanks to Jamie for the ride and to Greg for hosting. Next time we’ll try and bring Adam’s setup too so things run nice and smooth.
that would be a big help sir!! ggs btw, your rufus got in my head for a lil there lol. keep up the leveling up and i will see you soon! oh also, did you say somthing about challenging our #2?? had to put you on blast:sweat:
