I’ve had to quit during a player match multiple times because there is no effective way to leave a session in progress. If Capcom hadn’t screwed the pooch on allowing the player to leave the session gracefully, this wouldn’t be a problem.
I know first hand how annoying that is but I’m talking about these 3 rounds to win/inf time scrubs that catch a beatdown the first 2 matches and the 3rd round is quitting time.
There is a diffrence between quitting before the round starts and while catching an asswhoopin.
Sometimes if its laggy as hell its easier just to get the hell out of there. But overall, yeah it sucks if they quit because they were gonna get beaten.
Im a proud member of quitting in player matches even if im winning. Theres no point in drudging through boredom for nothing.
:woot:
Mmmh, I get disconnected all the time so a lot of people probably think I’m qutting on them.
I have also had to quit a couple of times at the very beginning of a game because of the graphics bug. Y’know, the one where the HUD glitches out and you can’t see the background… or your opponent.
This is huge problem josh. Not only in sf , but online period. It happens alot in madden and nbalive games.:mad: I hate it too sir.
AMEN BROTHER :wgrin:
Actually from playing more player matches tonight and seeing how buggy they are I’m sticking to ranked and tournaments. Lets bring back the tournament scene that was going strong those first couple of days this game was released. GO GO GO!
Same here. If I get bored of playing Ryu and Ken for five matches, I’ll leave. I actually get somewhat excited when people don’t pick Ryu or Ken.
Pretty lame how people get out of the lobby and go directly to the character select screen, my mic doesn’t work with this game and I’m pretty much forced to quit out sometimes when I’m done, instead of being able to back out because some button masher can’t wait 2 seconds.
I don’t like this. I know it’s boring to play against shitty players, but we’re trying to improve. If all the good players quit because we’re not good, how do we improve? I play Guile all the time because he’s my main and I want to get decent with him. So if I’m facing a strong player, I’m going to play Guile the whole time. Playing any other character is even more of a waste of your time.
Look, my whole point is that strong players got strong because they played against strong players, right? If the strong players ignore the weaker players, they’re only going to be able to play each other and all that will do is cause them to stagnate and kill any potential future comp.
This is SRK, so I’m aware that I’m going to get nothing but STFUSCRUB and neg rep.
This man actually has a point.
I’m one of those people who likes to figure things out by themselves; I played against the same group of friends in ST for months and months, spent hours in training mode figuring out things, and I was improving for a good while there. But then I hit a plateau. I had to seek out the community to learn more. Then I joined SRK. Started reading threads, learning things. My game improved. Hit another plateau. HDR came out. I feel like I get better every day, because now I can actually find people better than me.
In summary, I think you can get pretty decent on your own, or playing weaker opponents, but he’s right: at some point you have to start playing people that are better than you in order to progress. So I don’t really support the notion of “I’m better than you, I quit” either.
Not at all, trust me what that man said is NOT what most of us think.
I’d rep you if I could.
Just to clear things up, I was ranting about the scrubs that quit when losing during a player match…you know the kind of matches that don’t go on any kind of record at all.
Oh, I know that’s what you were talking about. I hate that myself. I had a guy ragequit after I trounced him twice easily(3 out of 5 game). I just don’t like when better players feel they’re too good to play the lowly weaker players. We need to get better somehow.
Last night I played two guys who went back and forth between ryu and ken. Stomped easily them easily. They stayed, I stayed, and they both eventually stuck to one character(Ryu and Ken, but whatever. They worked on their one character), stopped jumping in when Guile had charge, the Ryu player got a bit better at fireballing and the Ken player got better at DPs. I played them until they both ended up leaving. It didn’t talk a lot of time and they’re a little better because of it. Even though I suck, I still tried to help out weaker players. It makes the times where you get raped over and over sting a little less because you know you need it to get better.
Also, I appreciate the desire to positive rep. :woot:
I know the feeling. I want to improve; the only way to do that is by fighting good players. So it frustrates me when I find someone who stomps me only to disappear afterward because I don’t feel like I learned anything.
Rest assured any time I discon, it’s due to my connection :. Thankfully, it hasn’t happened much in SFHD so I can play without fear. I pretty much can’t play 2DF at all anymore thanks to it.
