With help of some other users on SRK Tech Talk I was able to find and identify that the Hrap V4 PCB has in fact a Bluetooth chip on board.
Based off that and others findings, I have good reason to assume the Mad Catz TE 2 and the HFC4 also has a bluetooth chip or module of some sort.
Software only solution, Highly unlikely, its why these “adapters” still need a Dual Shock 4 to pair up with and piggy back on.
There also a possibility that Sony releases a firmware update that disables or made incompatible these devices like the Cronus Max, Titan One and the M4.
MS did this in the past with unauthorized 3rd party Xbox 360 memory cards.
Are these any good for the average person who just wants to use their PS3 sticks on their ps4? Or PS3 sticks on Xbone? I’m confused is there any difference between CM and T1? And what does it mean having to be hooked to a pc while you play? Are they pretty much useless if you dont have ready access to a desktop?
The CM was problematic as it burnt out USB ports on consoles because of the cheap build quality. The T1 was made as an improved version that does not damage USB ports and has a better version of the Gtuner software.
The PC only needs to be used to program the T1 and to connect to the PS4 without the automatic reconnect every 10 minutes. Personally, I use a T1 on my PS4 without the PC when I play a match in GG Xrd Sign. All I do is make sure I restart the device before a new match so it doesn’t reconnect in the middle of it. Every other console works flawlessly. The only thing is that you need to get passed the authentication on the XB360 and XBone, which is just quickly connecting and disconnecting a XBone or wired XB360 controller to the T1 whenever using it’s respective console.
The site says when you’re in tournament mode it displays it on the read out of the converter, so that would be very easy to enforce. I’m not super worried about PS4 conversion since I’d mainly want this as a reliable converter to XBOX360 for PS3 pad, Having to use a computer to reauthenticate seems kind of… not realistic though for PS4 and XBONE use though.
i have an M4 that they sent me for testing for this very reason and i will say that it does not work with arcade sticks at all BUT i can use a ps3 pad on my xbox one/ps4 with no problem its kinda cool. Only thing is if u use it on ps4 u have to have a wired ps4 pad like the hori commander not the wireless and the wire hooked up.
They were actually working with MLG to get the Titan One into their tournaments but Sony put an end to it at the very last second. Sony didn’t want to look bad having a third party fix their problem. There is no issue with the TE firmware as macros and all mods are disabled. The only feature available is crossover controllers or wired mode as Bluetooth connections are an issue at live tournaments. There are several tournaments that allow them but only with the TE firmware installed.
