Tired of paying for and dealing with quick disconnects? WATCH THIS TUTORIAL!

Ah, this is nice for people too lazy to buy QD’s such as myself.

presumably using the “professional” unsleeved qds along with the proper crimping tool would also result in something better than the average sleeved squished qd most of use have dealt with. I can see how your method is significantly less knuckle busting than dealing with QD’s, but i have doubts about the method making them “obsolete”.

There’s no way I could stand having this method inside my stick. I would always think in the back of my head that connection was loose and I was getting dropped inputs.

I did overkill on my stick.

Wires soldered to a pcb and then glued over that, running to a terminal strip, terminal strip to wire soldered directly onto a button.

When I go to a tournament I take extra switches with me that have the wires pre-soldered onto the switch. If I need to replace one I just use a phillips head screwdriver to unscrew the wires from the terminal strip and switch it out. Takes about 1 minute.

This could be improved if I used screw terminals like on the Cthulhu. I could even put a little clip inside the stick for a tiny screwdriver so I wouldn’t have to carry one around with me.

Zapf, they are called Open Barrel Terminals.
AkihabaraShop.jp sells them, and sells the needed Open Barrel Crimper.

And was this the Thread you saw?

Maybe your QD methods are just flawed, but I have no problems crimping on QDs, and getting them to stay on tight with no issues.

Now taking them off can be a bit of a pain, but they’re designed to go on tight and stay secure, like they should for a solid connection. I just use a flathead screwdriver and carefully pry them off, works.
