So hopefully we’ve all seen this by now [media=youtube]Bbc9NIiOzBs[/media] and I suspect we now have video of perhaps the best way to play this match up.
But instead of match up theory boringness, I have a much more specific question.
Combo @ 0:26 to 0:29; repeated multiple times in the video.
I’m very familiar with juggling air tatsus to air tatsus and also this finisher in particular on other characters but previously I was positive this didn’t work on Duds, and dispite like 20 min of trying this combo which i can already do consistantly on Shoto’s, Makoto, Urien and Chunnerz, I couldn’t and still can’t land this once on Duds… yet there it is like 3 times in the same short clip.
So obviously I want to know if anyone can see something here that I don’t, like maybe the Duds has to be bounced a certain height, or is there a delay or something else specific to the SJ tatsu? Or does this just not work on PS2 (i doubt that.) Anyone else have better luck?
The easiest one to learn this on is Urien, it even works when hes standing and because of his hitbox the SJ airtats almost always hits.
It’s a good way to get a feel for the ones that require you to be faster with the SJ tats.
Just jump at standing urien and hit him with an air tatsu that hits twice (hes tall so it works well on him, timing is usually at the apex of your jump) then you land first and follow with SJ air tats for 3 hits (for some reason this is REALLY easy on Urien) and depending on how close you end up to the corner you can hp srk either into the corner or away from the corner after. If your away from the corner you can also cr jab dash under.
I did it a couple of times on emulator just now, it just seems as harder as with ryu for me (1 or 2 success for something like 10/15 try, i’m pretty bad with the IA tatsu)…
Both Gouki and Dudley start to jump, then Gouki does lk tatsu, followed by ground HK tatsu and then instant air HK tatsu.
I tried with Lk tatsu hitting on Dud’s jump apex or at last possible time, but it doesn’t seem to change anything for other tatsus timing…
Can’t you try with emulator? Maybe PS2 3S speed make this quite impossible?
Dash HP srk is possible after second tatsu with dudley, nice to know (and i didn’t ^^)…
I’m in the same boat as Pherai. Though I was practicing ur method before (only on hugo instead) and became pretty consistent. I couldn’t land 3x tatsu setup on urien or shotos, there must be a difference in the SJ after the RH tatsu?

I tried it on ken with mk tatsu anti air and mk tatsu upon landing. Juggle counter doesn’t show up but he appears to be too far for my sj hk tatsu to hit.
I just recently got back in to 3s trying to relearn the game with a stick after I’ve gotten tired of SF4, so I figured I’d come here to read up on combos/tricks/matchups or whatever only to find a single thread on airtatsus…
