I don’t understand how rich kids can think that potentially dying being a terrorist is better than being a rich kid with a hell of a lot less to worry about in life.
Islam. I don’t believe we are dealing with “extremists”, as overly-pc people who like to make up nonsensical titles to make things seem less threatening like to call them. I believe we are dealing with those who follow the Qu’ran to the tee, instead of ignoring the parts about waging war to make Islam the only religion, as the moderates, who get along with everyone regardless of their religions, do. We’re dealing with the real deal, as Muhammad himself was, only they lack the courage to die in combat, using suicide as a shortcut to paradise.

From what I read, his reasoning is that he saw sentry drones killing civilians during his stay in Pakistan.
But, as evidenced in the reuters photographer slaughtering thread, it’s war and shit happens. Doesn’t matter if a bunch of civilians are killed, no one is at fault. We’re OK with soldiers mishaps being the cause of future terrorist attacks on America because, hey, we’re jingoists.

how did the guy who shot all those ppl on the army base not get called a terrorist? or the guy who just flew a plane into a federal building? or the kid who plotted to kill the president and murder 100 random black ppl? they all had documented that they did what they did for political reasons. i’m not saying this man isnt a terrorist, that is exactly what he is… it’s just weird that only muslim ppl are called terrorists, the events of the last few years have changed the meaning of the word completely from “a person who attempts the demoralization of people for political purposes” to “brown dudes who read the quran”. i think that when you hear a word and it instantly evokes racist thoughts, it can’t be ok and is pretty much just fear mongering. don’t hate or fear a whole race or religion because of some fanatics, and that is what these terrorists all are. i’m honestly amazed we are as safe as we are, domestically and globally, with all the crazy shit going on with our name on it.
It’s not just “shit happens.” Terrorists knowingly and consistently make sure to hide themselves amongst civilians. Yeah, it sucks that the military isn’t so advanced that everything is handled like in that one scene in Iron Man 1 where the terrorists have a bunch of hostages and he has those shoulder cannons that pick off all of them at once. But this is real life, where war is ugly, and hiding behind women and children isn’t going to end pretty.

And you can try and PC up the word “terrorist”, but in the mind of the vast, vast majority of peoples’ minds, “terrorist” means “Islamic fundamentalists”. So labeling other people, who may or may not be terrorists in the true, literal, sense doesn’t really connect to the common knowledge and experience of the average individual (not just Americans, but abroad). There are plenty of other words in the English language that have evolved with time from denoting a broad idea to being specific. The only reason anybody discusses the meaning of “terrorist” is because of, again, the lack of perfect political correctness.
