TIMELESS games?

I forgot to add
Romance of the 3 Kingdoms series…The fuck, why didn’t they release any of these last gen, fuckers better have one for the PS4 or Xbone…

I’d say the original Castlevania is pretty timeless. It’s definitely one of the iconic action/platformer type of games, but I’d go so far as to say that it’s a textbook example of smart design as well. Everything from the level design, the enemy placement, to the design of the enemies and Simon himself, it all works together cohesively. It’s complicated in its simplicity in a lot of ways. The game doesn’t saddle you with a lot of subsystems, so it gives the player a certain degree of freedom.

Plus it’s fun. I’ve played the game hundreds of times, but I still enjoy it. And there’s something about a muscle-bound guy with a whip and a couple of subweapons going into a huge castle teeming with monsters trying to tear his ass a new one that somehow never gets old, especially in a day and age where overwrought stories and half-baked gameplay systems hamper a lot of newer games. Sometimes the simplest answer is the best one.

Mega Man X. I never get tired of playing through this.

Tetris. My PSN icon is a T-tertronimo for a reason!

MVC2. I always sucked at it, but it’s fun even just messing around and doing basic combos.

Super Hang on

Wtf @blueleon for saying DMC1 is the GOAT action game. You must not play many games in the genre, worthless scrub.

One can hope!

ST is another “timeless” game. Peeps are still playing this game, I think?

Another list thread, because they totally aren’t a shitty unoriginal boring waste of time and bandwidth.

Okay I’ll bite hmmm timeless games…easy, any annual sports game!

DMC1 is one of the GOATs.

Still doesn’t shit on any of the GOATs that came out after it.

There are good action games like DMC3 & 4, Bayonetta, Ninja Gaiden and heck, God of War 3, but then there’s DMC1.

“Let’s rock, baby!”

Virtua Fighter 2

D^:

KOFXI, CvS2,MvC2. My favorite fighting games. This will always be so, and I could always revisit them and have fun.

Tetris is the best puzzle game of all time. I prefer NES Tetris, but there are enough varieties out there to suit everyone.

SOR2, Turtles in Time. I don’t think these need any real explaination.

As for other games, time will tell.

This is kind of a silly thread. Honestly any well designed game is timeless. I played an original Asteroids arcade for the first time a while back. Asteroids was released in 1979 and yet it was a ton of fun. Graphic technology may improve, sound technology, however great game design is great game design. Doesn’t matter if it is the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, today.

No sits right next to them as one of the Kings (and da sexy Queen.)

pretty much yeah.

I was just wondering which games people REALLY like playing. I didn’t play like 80% of the games listed here. I am gonna get to those. especially games like silent hill 2. I KNOW its godlike. because I played sh1. I just need to sit the fuck down on a saturday/sunday and get to it.

SH2 is too scawwy for me T__T
