Wow…the timing.
Poor man must have stressed himself to death…
Here comes the pedo allegations falling out of the closet.
I was at my local Toys R Us just now and the sales are trash. 30% is the deepest discount they are offering. Even on their deathbed they can’t offer good deals.
That’s because of suppliers and possibly the prices set by liquidators to pay back the money owed to the bank. That’s gonna take time for those discounts to get deeper and (assuming the items you’re looking for aren’t snatched off shelves by then) see any really interesting deals. And again, that’s assuming the suppliers for certain items don’t get their merchandise shipped back and resell that stock through other channels at little-to-no discount.
Agreed, they want every nickle and dime they can get.
By the way I went by my local Toys R Us, picked up a “Tiny Arcade” Mini Pac-man Cab and Doom for the Switch.
I went to a Toys R Us last night to by my close friend’s niece a birthday present. I got her a Paw Patrol vehicle set. It cost $24.99. I got it for $22.99. Even before the announcement, TRU had always been pricey. I saw some Pacific Rim 2 toys I wanted to get but they were either 20 or 30 dollars and the sale was 10% off. I was like you got to sale ass and drugs to shop there.
Might be able to do it again. She might need the money.

… R us😲
Went by my local Toys R us and found a couple of ok deals but nothing to write home about. The babies R us next door was NOT playing and they were going HAM on sales for some reason. I got my daughter a couple of playsets a bunch of onsies for next to nothing. (At least compared to what I typically have to pay for baby girl clothes).
It’s a liquidation process. It takes a while before they really offer big discounts on items.
I finally checked one out today… wayyyy too many people in there; it’s as close to a “Black Friday” kind of craziness as I want to get… I did finally buy that MODOK figure I’ve been seeing at Walmart for years now…it’s probably still 5 or 6 bucks at the Walmart (for years I kept thinking about it…tempted but ultimately deciding…nah it’s not worth 5)… I got it at TRU today for 1.94.
I also checked the amiibo section but sadly they didn’t have any of the ones I wanted…and it was still 9.98 or so… I was thinking they could go much lower than that on those…especially since many of them were old ones. I checked the Skylanders section in case those were crazy low but there was NOTHING over there…apparently cleaned out, I guess… (even though that isn’t as popular as it once was)
That was many moons ago, her kid is now about the same age I was when I plowed her mom.
Theres a TRU in Glasgow that i wanted to check out since ancient days since TMNT got sold there back in the day, i might go just to wear a raincoat and give the worst impressions of our kind to the peasant folk out there that might be watching.
She’s got a kid? She probably does need the money.
oh shit, other people played vectorman at toys r us as well? nice!
i always had fond magical memories of going there as a kid. i think something todays kids will definitely miss out on. i know you can shop that shit online but its not the same feeling. unfortunately, i stopped going to toys r us after i grew up, because i didnt want people to think i was some pedo, kinda like how there are lego toy lands you cant go to if you dont have a kid with you
I remember Toys R Us being the shit during the SNES and Genesis days. It was pretty awesome seeing every new release and all the top sellers take up a huge row of store space. I think the genesis section alone was bigger than most gamestops today. I still get a little bit of feels thinking back to those days.
I remember a couple of days before Thanksgiving 1986. My mom took me to TRU to make a list for Santa Claus. the magic Toys R Us had during the holidays, as a child, was something to behold. I swear walking into that was like walking into a storybook magical palace. They were setting up for Black Friday. I went down that G.I. Joe aisle and almost had a heart attack. So I started conducting my list. My mom was like Santa can’t get all of that thru the balcony door. So I had to trim my list. LOL!!! Interesting, Christmas 1986 is when I found out there was not Santa Claus but that’s a very short story. LOL!!
Playing Mario 64 at TRU a month or so before the N64 out was probably my greatest memory of TRU. I would go there for hours just to play it.
I also remember when the TRU opened up the street from me and on it’s grand opening they were offering $10 off video games, and my dad took me there to pick out one game for my birthday, and I picked Actraiser. Game owned but I beat it in 2 days.
toys r us sales are trash. only up to 30% off here.
