I’d say Dante/Vergil/Nova for unblockables with vergil. Or Vergil/Nova/Dante(weasel shot). Not entirely sure.

Yea I don’t know.Like what assist/combo ideas would u have in that case??Cuz how I play Nova now is either DHC into Vergil for loops,kill then rawtag back in or combo using Doom’s plasma beam from ForwardH(Nova Slam)…then St.M,CenturionM,CenturionH,Nova Force Super

That’s why I was thinking maybe Dante first to wreak havoc,possibly kill and build meter for both Nova and Vergil(mainly Vergil)…plus I’d still have my reset using Vergil’s rapid slash assist

Just go for Nova May Cry team, Dante/Vergil is an excellent shell.

Does anyone have particular setups/patterns they use with Dante and Drones?

What makes Dante Vergil a good shell?

I want to run Felicia may cry but my Vergil is kinda ass should I work on him?

Nothing really except their overall very strong DHC synergy(safe install supers, great DHC damage), and the fact that they are both top tier and godlike. You can achieve a lot of similar stuff by using different characters, but the only plus with dante is that he combines an OTG with a lockdown assist which is a kind of good but if you run Felicia you already have an OTG. If you are going to run Felicia/Dante there is no reason not to put Strider in the back, that is a much better team and shell than Dante/Vergil. Felicia-low/Dante-Weasel/Strider-Vajra is probably one of her more optimal teams.

so i run dante doom strider and i cant figure out which assists to pick for doom i already know i want jam session and vajra but i cant choose between beam and hidden missles for doom i feel beam makes it easier to make my approach with dante (wave dash/ teleport mixup) but hidden missiles overall usefulness is hard to pass up also can any one explain better ways to approach, apply pressure, and over all get in with dante

for my team I made a change and am considering another. I would like y’all input.

My Chris team is Chris Dante Strider. Originally it ran Gun Fire Jam Session and Vajra.

Vajra is clearly Strider’s assist.

I have changed Chris’ gun fire to Boulder Punch (invincible crossover counter to tag Chris in for either Dante or Strider, combo extension for Strider)

apart from the invincible crossover counter, are there any other potential uses for Boulder Punch for Dante?

The Strider boards mention Weasel Shot being excellent for Strider. And I am sure it can help Chris too. But is it worth giving up jam session? Strider can anti air a jumper for Chris. where I use Dante as a pre-emptive anti air with the risk of a happy birthday.

I expect Strider to get snapped in, so I figure to give him the tools to allow him to survive but I do not want to sacrifice tools for Chris who is intended to be my workhorse for the majority of the match.

Vajra probably cover the air good enough so you can give up on that.

Plus Boulder Punch cause hard knockdown, probably won’t be that hard to implement it as combo extender.

Or the usual of go in a guard while calling Chris, if he hits, you get full combo as Dante conver hard knockdown pretty well. kinda like a ghetto gtfo assist

Mid screen, you can actually combo off of a raw Million Carats after a hard knockdown if you call Chris right before the input; as close as possible to your opponent. Then you either dash like a mad man into cold shower (if early in the combo) or Volcano, or wait to recover from the Million Carats and then immediately teleport and then buffer the volcano beehive as you land on the other side of your opponent. It always goes to the opposite side even though the teleport happens as Chris sends the opponent flying. An easier confirm is calling Chris right before a Volcano, which is jump cancelable into a teleport, box dash, or if you input it fast enough, a Grapple-> Beehive. For some reason Chris always seems to connect the last hit even after a long BnB, giving you a hard knockdown to play with.

In the corner, after a hard knockdown, you can straight up call Chris, immediately Volcano and jump cancel straight into a quick Hammer, Helm Breaker, or Skydance. The Sky Dance will be at just the right height to Beehive to whatever you want to do next, and the j.S or Hammer are just one extra hard knockdown. If you’ve just done a ground bounce like Beehive already, then Stinger at the same time as calling Chris, and Bold Cancel Volcano into the same options. Oh, or you can actually do the Grapple-> Beehive, but you have to delay the Hysteric->Grapple cancel quite a lot.
I just remembered that Hammer does significantly more damage than a Helm Breaker after like two hits into the combo, so uh, yeah Hammer probably after Chris’s assist call and Volcano is probably best.

I had the same reason for Chris assist as well :slight_smile: but then I found ways to play with the boulder punch. Oh and I use Chris as anchor too, so he’s always there for Dante.

I think weasel shot would be a way better defensive assist for chris, jam session he moves forward so far before the active frames hes rly vulnerable, also hard to confirm off jam session.

Well, if you’re playing a defensive keep away Chris, Jam Session may be better because, although Weasel Shot has more horizontal range and keeps Dante at a recessed distance so he doesn’t get blown up, Jam Session has that super jump height advantage. Screw hit-confirming off of a Jam Session though.

I’m not sure if this goes here, but my main questions are how does dante shape-up against morrigan, dr. doom, wolverine, and vergil centered teams. Does he have natural tools against these characters or is he only fine with certain assists. I looked quickly but i didn’t see a matchup thread.

Those are kinda different teams, and can be varied in many ways?
Doom on point? MorriDoom? Wolvey/Tatsu? which is quite different then Wolvey/HM. It will be better if you could break down the question into more focused matchups

Dante/Vergil/Hawkeye, I like this team quite a lot due to the synergy between Dante and Vergil and the assist that Hawkeye provides.

Dr. doom on point? morri doom? wolvy/akuma? and spencer frank? i guess how does dante matchup against the higher tier characters and teams? Im playing viper dante ironman so if viper dies all he has is unibeam, is that a strong enough shell. Also this is probably a question for the ironman forums but what is the proper way to call ironman’s unibeam assist. It doesn’t quite work the same way as doom, nor does it come at as fast. Does that mean its worse for viper?

wesker/dante/vergil vs deadpool/dante/vergil. Which one should I main? which one has more synergy?

Wesker, because his assist helps dante for unblockable resets, and vergil for an otg assist, deadpol also has an assist for unblockables and an otg assist, but you can choose only one so is better to use wesker IMO.

also i want to try Dante/Sentinel , i dont know what anchor to use, for low hitting i maybe try Felicia, also she has self.unblockables, i could use vergil for being the best anchor and also have good synergy with Dante or Sent, but his assist is not that good for neutral game, although it pushes the enemy to the corner so it is okay, who would you recommend?
