Time to go to work, guys! Dante team building thread

Yea yea yea I know, “as time goes by, one touch means 3 dead characters” and all that lovely shit, I’ve been hit by the infamous zero team TOD before, I know how quickly things can spiral out of control. But were talking in inpractical tones here, fact of the matter is, even at the end of marvel 2’s life, health still mattered and people still dropped combos, guard breaks and unblockables. Plus your saying this under the assumption that every hit taskmaster takes is gonna lead into a combo, there are stray hits, assist hits and dropped combos and all this adds up taskmaster outlasting a lot of other characters because he has a lot more health than they do.

Finally, health wasn’t the only reason I was picking task, just a nice bonus, and fact is, you are literally never gonna convince me health doesn’t matter. We can all act like there will be a time when every match is decided by one hit but thats never gonna happen, there will be matches decided by one hit but it’ll never apply to all matches against all players(and Im talking about high level play here, not xbl or some shit) not in the real world and not so long as tournament nerves and pressure exist. I mean this is the same world where people aren’t getting hit by foot dives and pipes so yea.

And yea dante might not touch the floor, but that would happen whether I had taskmaster on point or zero. Dude’s a solid character, and those are the characters I like in game this fast, makes it harder to get “randomed” out because of the manner he plays. He can control the tempo of a match and slow things down which is always welcome and at the start of a match he has one of the best opening options in the game, especially when you add akuma to the back of that shield skills throw option select.

Thoughts on Firebrand/Ammy/Dante?

I just picked dante up recently so Im unsure of his anchor capabilities but since ammy is like a top 5 anchor id recommend firebrand/dante/ammy tbh, or maybe even dante/firebrand/ammy.

dante’s a pretty damn good anchor if you actually learn how to play xf3 dante

Yeah, XF3 Dante is all sorts of ridiculous. I’ve been anchoring him since the beginning of ultimate, gotta say he’s surprisingly good as anchor.

not to take this off topic talking about taskmaster but I really agree with you here. In the neutral game 3v3 with assists going off and crazy shit happening task has a lot more sustainability than lower health characters and he can still do 1.1. I play Dante/Taskmaster/Ammy, i’ll alternate dante with storm sometimes and a lot of times they end up taking so much random damage i have to get them out or let them die without doing anything. however, if I put task first he lives long enough to get rid of their first character due to his higher damage and health then let dante or storm go to town without having to worry about the flurry of assists 3v3 has.

At the end of the day i still put task second because he’s my best character and I prefer my point to be my most versatile character due to the 3v3 game

I’m trying to make the dante super team. What two assists can net him the most damage barring infinites and vergil while still being effective?

Probably Dante/Magneto/Sentinel. If I wasn’t such a character loyalist I’d probably be playing that team right now.

I’d say Dante/Sentinel/Strider is just as good, if not better. You’re still able to get left/rights with Vajra in addition the air control. Sentinel is 2nd for Plasma Storm DHC damage. You can also use Hard Drive DHC to Legion if Dante gets bopped and you want to make the comeback with XF2 Strider+Drones. Magneto and Dante have great synergy, but I just really like Dante with Vajra.

My Friend recently picked up a team with dante in his team and is asking for advice, but i have nothing can someone help me out here?

Sorry to ask this of you, but can you post dormammu’s assist so i know which HC Dormammu use in a Cross over Combination?
Also can you state if you are wanting to Rush or Zone with Dormammu?

Oh, for Dormammu, I’m using Dark Hole, since it helps out both Dante and Magneto if need be.

I want to rush and zone with Dormammu. Jam Session helps in zoning while Disruptor helps for rushdown, though they can also switch roles at times.

I see the dante sent but how magnus dante?
I don’t see much synergy but that might be my lack of knowledge.

The team is better with Magneto on point, Magneto gets Jam Session screen control that is completely bullshit with attraction and Shockwave DHC Devil Trigger is a 50/50 that is completely unavoidable by non teleporters (and even then, they have to be in absolutely no blockstun at all). And drones.

It was even stupider in vanilla where you could dhc glitch to Dante, but in this game thats what we have Vergil for.

Magneto has a beam. Dante can teleport. Apply mixup. Magneto 2nd opens up TAC options that are actually worth something since you can end them in Gravity Squeeze if they guess wrong. Some Magneto/Dante specific tech is that you can hard tag in Dante after a squeeze in the corner to extend the combo. Magneto can also abuse Dante’s DT with his guard cancel tech. You can also kill assists like Strider with a Counter xx Shockwave DHC to DT into SJ Thunderbolts. Magneto probably gets more out of this pairing than Dante, but that’s because Dante does everything.

Yeah, that’s where I got the idea haha. I was trying to figure out how to blow up Strider calls without burning my X-Factor and just adding a counter in front does the trick. That move is so good yet you don’t see it used too much. Force Field xx Gravity Squeeze is quite satisfying against characters like Doom trying to spam plasma beam and what not.

Fullscreen missiles calls are pretty safe though from this iirc. Unfortunately shakes fist. This is why I snap that bastard in though.

I find it quite amazing against MorriDoom. Since you are generally going to be stuck near the center of the Soul Fist maze, you can attraction guard cancel one of them > Shockwave > Devil Trigger and proceed to abuse Doom. Even better is how you can just super jump over a Finishing Shower attempt (And Morrigan should get hit by the Shockwave anyway IIRC)
