Tight Pants Ban Takes Effect in Indonesia

Once again…haters gonna hate.

This is willful ignorance. Or since this is SRK–you can lead a scrub to water, but you’ll never get him to drink. Calling someone a hater when you can’t possibly know their viewpoint (because, guess what! you aren’t even going to bother learning what it is) is scrub-talk that anybody here recognizes.

Edit: And just to remind you, Hitchens is a published journalist (and was already one back when that designation actually meant something,) and whatever you think about his abrasive brand of atheism, he writes good articles, and what literary stuff of his that I’ve seen published in the Atlantic is brilliant.

not to mention the vatican considered hitchens point legitimate enough to let him speak in opposition to mother theresa’s becoming a saint.

I apologize, sincerely. This entire time I thought you were a blithering idiot; I didn’t actually think you were mentally ill.

To facilitate your obviously warped memory:

Mental illness is a tough thing to deal with. Seek help; modern therapy can go a long way towards helping you drop habits like selective memory in order to make poorly-reasoned points sound more reasonable than they really are.

Good luck.

Dr. B was mentally ill once. Turns out a moon crashed into his head. And by mentally ill I mean annoyed.

It’s not really “assuming” when you undeniably proved that you are totally ignorant on everything related to the subject. Though if you’re going to talk on dropping habits, I’d recommend you stop talking about shit you don’t know anything about.

Islam is fucking stupid.

if you want unbiased comments on religion, who do you ask for it?
religious people or atheists?

Agnostics

Islamic much?

You (Muham)mad?

Like I said before, you’re a pedophile, and I unfortunately don’t have a translator handy to translate, into Bitch, how you’re very conveniently dismissing what defeats your bullshit argument.

But I suppose I can’t blame you. If the cornerstone of my argument was easily defeated by a simple observation of the nature of reality, I’d start pulling the “you don’t know what you’re talking about so I’m not gonna answer you” card from the Bitch deck too.

Dr. B : spudlyff8fan :: Universal healthcare : rich whities who don’t want to share

Don’t be so modest. You’re fluent in Bitch.

But really, it isn’t your fault. It isn’t your fault that you were born in Canada. It isn’t your fault that you weren’t born in America. It’s not your fault that you’re dumb enough to think you can say something on the subject and have people take it seriously. And it’s not your fault that the thickness of your skull prevents you from realizing that your initial comment was so stupid and off-base that any argument on the value of your opinion ended with its final punctuation mark.

Anthropologists because we get to read about everybody’s fruity religions.

  1. Take a rubber ball.
  2. Bounce it.
  3. Bounce it again.
  4. Bounce it yet again.
  5. Through empirical observation, make a logical conclusion about gravity.
  6. Through that observation, make a logical conclusion about claims and evidence.
  7. Go through this thread.
  8. Look for every instance you made claims (about me or healthcare, whatever).
  9. Look for the proof behind those claims.
  10. Assuming you have a brain, you’ll never reach this step, but if you do, being as far removed from reality as you are, eat a dick.

I don’t think it matters of the person is religious or not. What matters is whether or not they’re biased.

I know people, for example, who follow the positive examples of religions while knowing full well that it isn’t something to truly “buy into.” Richard Dawkins once said he didn’t mind being a “cultural Christian”; following tradition (where appropriate and not bullshit) without actually believing in it as though it were reality.

Dr. B beat Sentry by telling him to shut the fuck up and handle his shit.

And rather than being a pseudo-witty contrarian, you just go back to putting insults in list form. Stop trying to hold onto an argument that you lost before it even started.

Actually, a good chunk of GD is not qualified to have a proper argument on a lot of topics discussed in this sub-forum. Most of the discussions dealing with culture, dialects, religion, the impacts of these on a group of people and the consequences of those impacts are lost because they are not read. This used to bother as I would try to get in on discussion that I’ve studied but, this sub forum isn’t for intelligent discussion as it is not usually how things are conducted here; instead a lot of people try to yell over the internet by typing and not using all caps. I am just as guilty of yelling and insulting at the drop of the hat as a large majority of the board.

But seeing as a good portion of people do not understand the impact of culture in situations like these, it is not worth bothering as they probably won’t stop to grok the concepts. At the end of the day, this forum is never the time and place for any discussion on anything at a cultural or religious level.

I gave you all the steps you need to see your own folly.

Dr. B : delicious pizza entering the human body :: spudlyff8fan : delicious pizza exiting the other side

Spuddly never ceases to amaze me with his incredible idiocy.

I respectfully disagree. Even if SRK GD can be a bottomless pit of cosmopolitan apathy (which, by the way, it isn’t, depending on the topic and the poster,) it’s useful in the same way a dried up, bottomless well is–when you’re stressed for whatever reason, you can have a one-way screaming session and listen to the echoes of your own voice reverberate back to the mouth of the abyss.

So the mistake is in thinking anybody will listen–not necessarily the act itself of making an effort to be understood. Yes, if I were really interested in what other people thought, I probably would not have posted here in the first place. (In fact, if that were the case, I probably would not be using the internet at all.) But once I am here, I can choose to make a sincere effort to listen and reply in earnest.

Yes, but about your sig though–I happen to dislike Rousseau. The quote itself is rather good I suppose though.
