It should be a matter of protocol not about whether it is right or wrong. Too many people look at marriage as the ultimate sign of love and all of that other crap when it in actuality it is one of the most important contracts you will enter into.

Why should you have to spend at LEAST 100’s on a ring to tell someone you love them? Wouldn’t that money be better spent on rent, food, car or other bills? Last I checked you could be with someone and not need that.

IDK, people tell me that you have to get married or else you will be labeled as a homo or a person with issues. Yet, the proof is right fucking in front of everyone, that unless you are a person that has genitalia that allows for objects to be inserted and it bleeds for several days and the person doesn’t die, then how can anyone these days think that marriage is a good idea. fuck that, I’d rather jack off for the rest of my life than have to deal with losing my house, my tools, and my dog because some bitch felt obligated that it was hers even though all she fucking did was spread her legs every blue moon. One of the worst things about this is that the kids are likely to end up messed up. This is usually what happens in a messy divorce. While the kids have a lot of resources to get some help, things like this (especially at an early age) really have a long term mental effect on someone. I read a statistic about a year ago saying that a huge % (can’t remember the exact number, but I think it was over 50%, I think BEWD might know) of kids that have experienced a divorce go down the wrong path.
Why not get married? Because theres a chance she might get half if you cheat on her with 10 different women?
How about, “dont get married, if you cant remain faithful.”
There are lots of benefits to getting married, like having a place to extend your expenses after your death and giving your other half certain legal rights that a girlfriend or boyfriend may not have.
Arguing that someone doesent deserve a hefty settlement after reneging on their vows is complete bullshit. If you’re religious enough to get married, I think its hilarious to argue that through your sin someone else shouldn’t benefit on your behalf. Like I said before, RICH people getting married to a person with no money - that’s a huge red flag that shit can get bad. There is a ton of incentive to divorce and collect at the first sign of trouble. Sometimes I think that this is the cause of many divorces. Seriously, if a person couldn’t collect half they would probably hesitate to file for divorce.

I also had to laugh considering how many news outlets were portraying Elin Nordgeren as a goddamn saint around the time of her divorce.
The same woman who likely assaulted her husband in the head with a weapon (imagine how many years in jail a guy who did that to his woman would get), and makes fucking Marie Antoinette seem frugal by comparison.
