Even if she does plan to try and flip property starting out your first venture $12 mil in the red is questionable in itself. Whatever she builds is going to have to go for at least 3x that price when everything is all accounted for. She’s down 12 mil now. She’ll have to spend whatever to build a new place, and hope to flip it. If the venture doesn’t work out she’s down about 1/4 of what she made. Still more than livable, but seeing as she doesn’t have a source of income or trade outside of divorcing world class athletes it’s not the brightest way to begin her Sim City 2012 game save. Babysitting doesn’t pay that much.

Rich dude buying a $50 million dollar yacht they’ll use once every 5 years, and have to continue paying outrageous upkeep on just to dock it, now THAT’S throwing money away. But that’s cool, and people don’t have a beef with him, cuz he “earned” it. Usually by inheriting it.
