Tiger Knee'd Air Fireballs

I like doing these psychically when I know someone is tired of dodging fireballs. they wait for the jump then I usually get them when they’re moving forward (usually a dash or a rekka or something)

not very safe, but that just makes it all the more annoying when it lands.

If done correctly, they cross up and you’re at an advantage. Key is scoring an untechable knock-down via palm, walking and standing at their feet and then tk-ing jab air ball. This crosses up, forces them to block correctly AND puts you at advantage even on block. This is why it is used at high levels. If you are not getting frame advantage, you are not performing it correctly nor spacing yourself right.

Immediately jumping and balling is completely different and is NOT effective as a cross-up unless . . .

. . . you demon flip grab. This is also an untechable knockdown, but changes the spacing required to cross-up. I’m finding that performing a DFG, immediately dashing ONCE, jumping up-forward and immediately performing a MANUAL (not tk) jab air fireball crosses up and yields frame advantage.

Alternatively, a TK fireball outside of these situations can open interesting pressure doors. Sometimes it allows aerial advances against opponents albeit with them being forced to block as the tk ball while you continue advancing. This is especially effective if you TK ex air balls. A wall of fireballs essentially shields your advance.

what about after a cross up tatsu sweep?

I guess my timing is just trash, since I can hit a tk fireball consistently enough. I just cannot seem to hit that meaty fireball (at 530am, that sounds delicious) .
Few go arounds in training can fix that though, I suppose.

Worked for me too. I only TK fireball after a palm strike.

This is exactly how i’m doing it after a DF throw. I use the TK motion only after knocking them down with DF palm or when applying pressure with TKed ex air fb

Likewise. I’m thinking this stuff needs to be compiled into one response and put somewhere. The information relating to this is available now, albeit scattered all over the shop.

I believe another option after DFG is to dash twice and immediately grab. The timing is perfect to score a wake-up throw, forcing the opponent to tech.

down forward for me on numpad is; 214 (if you are facing right to left)

anyway i don’t know how you are using this TK fireball but the only useful situation for it is, when guy trys to do slide when you air fireball, if you do a TK fireball correctly it will hit him…and when you do a crossup the later is very useful
