I’m doing okay with it on pad, more reliable to me when I am on the right than on the left, but practice does make perfect…or as close as possible as one is likely to get.
Well, one thing to mention is that Viper’s instant Air Burn Kick is a LOT HARDER to do than the instant Dive Kick for Cammy. Unlike Cammy, Viper does have a height restriction on the Air Burn Kick. There IS a such thing as “too low” when you try to do it, which is what makes it annoying. So not only is there a too late for Viper (where the code is forgotten and hitting Kick does nothing), there is also a too EARLY restriction, where you aren’t high enough to let the Burn Kick actually come out. So her window is a lot pickier than Cammy’s. With Cammy, there’s no such thing as too low, AND to make things even BETTER, she has no special move on the ground that is QCB + Kick, so that move won’t ever come out during the pre-Jump frames like it can with Viper.

oohhhh i see. good shit as always, james. It is weird because, i can do Viper’s burn kick all the time in training. But when i get a match going, mostly online, i jump around like an idiot getting myself killed in the process.
I feel the need to keep doing it whenever i get the chance so i can get the feel for it. If you understand what i mean
with cammy…it feel harder for some reason. I’ll either get a cannon spike (if i try to pressure with TKCS…my second one will sometimes be a spike) or i’ll jump around with a light kick or heavy kick
When i look at my input display, it checks out fine. The motion is there…the input kick is there…but sometimes i’ll do it and sometimes i wont
i need to figure this out. Massive training is coming soon
Tip:
I found most of my issues I had with TKCS is NOT the motion with my left hand, but its the damn super sensitive buttons (sanwas) and my right hand. So I train myself to delay the button push with my right hand with just a slight pause after I completed the motion with my left hand. So don’t just blame your motion, also pay attention to your right hand or fingers.
i though Viper’s instant Air Burn Kick is easier than Cammy’s TKCS . Beucase Viper’s can be done with :qcb: :ub: or :uf:
the only different is for viper you have to hold :d: longer.
Well, doing Viper’s Burn Kick with a Backwards Jump is really easy, yeah. But doing it forward is really hard, for me at least. I mean, I TKCS like there’s no tomorrow, and when I play Viper, I can’t get it out for the life of me. I mean, I can do it from time to time, but consistently? Not at all.
Maybe it’s just me.

meh i cant find any damn way to do the tkcs. isnt it exactly the same movement as hooligan just to the opposide side?
Not exactly, hooligan is half a circle of movement from :db: to :uf:. TK Strike has to go from down to back, then up forward + kick, you don’t have to pass through :ub: or :u: . Just gotta be quick with the :uf: + kick. Turn on your input display in training and try and get this:
:d:
:db:
:l:
:uf: :hk:
ow… hmm so technically on keyboard i gotta do
down, back then up+forward+kick?
i found all ways to do cammy specials on keyboard except tkcs
umm, maybe try down, back, up+forward really quick? You might be out of luck there, the keyboard isn’t a great input device for this game.
I can’t do tkcs without a stick. On my fightpad I can only do the ex version, not the regular one.
it also depends on the type of keyboard you have. The older keyboards (5+ yrs ago) allows for simultaneous multi-key inputs (but are more expensive to manufacture = less profit for sellers). Many of the newer el cheapo keyboards “serialize” the inputs (means multi-key simultaneous inputs are treated as 1 key press after another and are cheaper to manufacture). That’s why nowadays they have “gaming” keyboards which are in effect keyboards with older design, they added nothing new, they just gave them a new name to distinguish from the el cheapo keyboards.
I would suggest you buy a joystick, keyboard is not ideal as a gaming inputs especially nowadays with the newer “serialized” keyboards.
If you delay cammy’s instant cannon strike so it hits higher, use that timing and it should work well for Viper’s instant air BKs. Viper’s probably isn’t harder just doing an instant cross up, well it is cause you have to be precise with up+forward) but if you cancel from SH or normals it is much harder for me at least.
I only play Cammy and Viper cause they are twins with mind games and a lot of execution stuff and match ups are identical but IDK if my advice will work or not, it just worked for me and I spam those moves. If you lag out Viper’s 214 you can do the air BK without a supper jump to change the move a bit.
EDIT: You can plug in a controller to most computers so I can’t imagine the difficulty of playing with a keyboard.
lol what a bunch od bastards =/ . fact is i cant afford a stick right now , i took a pad ps3 style and seriously cant get anything i want, nor a normal SA. on keyboard i can do everything even fadc except that tkcs …
its not difficult, it depends on the person though.i been/am using keyboard loads of time due to micromanagement on RTS games at high level so im fast in using it and so on and for sf4 it comes natural for me
This topic is good stuff. Cammy is a secondary of mine and I’ve had a lot of trouble perfecting the the instant dive kick. I can do it, but when it comes to bring it out when I need it most, I struggle.
i always did qcb,ub,u,uf+kick. So basically I swung the stick like a 270 degree, but from reading this topic I gather that qcb,uf+kick works right? I seem to always mess up around the ub or u part.
Thanks yall.
Yeah, you don’t want to hit ub. This will screw up your motion and make you jump back. You can do qcb+uf+kick or qcb+u+uf+kick. I recommend using the 1st one.
Using a keyboard would actually be pretty nice for cammy if not for the tkcs motion. I used a keyboard for some time before getting my stick, but the tkcs is just not possible using it. My keyboard doesnt have n-key rollover (the feature you need for multiple simultaneous key inputs), so you might have better luck with other hardware. Hooligan is also easier to execute using a stick, but the cannon spike has some advantages on the keyboard, especially when you want to do it from a low blocking position. Getting ultra and super instead of a cannon spike is also more consistent on the keyboard until you get some training with a stick.
actually i can do hooligan easily if theres no lag and tkcs is similar motion, the tkcs should be on keyboard do the 360 starting from down and ending in forward+kick
im sure its possible to do but need to find some1 that made it to ask how exactly :s
Yes, It’s possible, and people suggest doing that on sticks and controllers because the motion is natural. On a keyboard however, the extra (unneeded) directional inputs feel unnatural and will just slow down your execution, and often out of the time frame for you to input the move.
So I suggest since you’re using a keyboard just do :d::db::l::uf:: (Forward would also be another extra input for people who hit the kick too early and need to overcompensate with F) on a keyboard I’d say the equivalent to overcompensating would hold the last directional input longer and mash the punch/kick key.
I found a way for you CammyOwNz. I shouldnt even be supporting your keyboarding ways but…
lets say:
A=Left
S=Down
D=Right
W=Up
Just do it in 2 fast movements. The first movement, you are going to tap (S) and then (A) subsequently, then the second motion, you use your middle finger and your index finger to press AT THE SAME time (D)+(W)
So basically: S, A, D+W+(KICK)
TKCS can be guarded low and high right? Like the regular CS?
