I have only dabbled a bit in Super VG before going back to AVG2. I think Japan still kinda play it along with AVG2 although they take it less seriously.
Generally, itās a bit of simple fun. Very SF2-like in mechanics, except with amazingly fast dashes, and lots of multi-hitting rush moves. Thereās mad slowdown in places, and itās not exactly the smoothest engine, but you get used to it. If you can be satisfied with the simpler style of game then itās a bit of a laugh, but if you need supers etc to keep you entertained then itās probably pretty boring. Oh, the projectiles are fairly annoying too - hard to jump over most of them.
Weāre looking at getting AVG2, that game looks very fun!
You guys might be glad (or not) to know that Kaori is still S tier material in AVG2. Fortunately, she isnāt the only one in that game to be in that tier (Miranda and Chiho come to mind, maybe Material too) so it kinda balances out.
My friend and I are looking to capture some videos to try to show some of the matchups (or at least our take on them).
Good stuff on picking it up, Bious. As you say, itās actually a pretty interesting game, considering how simple it is.
Amusingly, in our last gaming session, I was actually beating my friendās Kaori with Chiho - although it was still a bit of a struggle. Her moves put her at a good distance, which is kind of what you want vs Kaori. Of course she can crouch under Chihoās projectiles, but if you get a lead⦠In general though, she doesnāt do that well against the other high tier chars.
Every other character so far has been a LOT more work to try to win with. Recently we did ft5s with ryu, I mean Yuka vs Kaori (0-5), Erina vs Kaori (1-5), and Reimi vs Kaori (I think it was 3-5?). I initially wanted Reimi up in S tier with Kaori, but after that ft5 it was clear sheās not on the same level of bullcrap. Kaori is just too good at getting in, and then sheās almost impossible to stop. That throw does SO much damage, too.
Also, not sure if youāve found it, but most characterās cr.lk, cr.lk chain becomes UNBLOCKABLE on the second hit vs Kaori (and Kaori only, as far as we can tell!). This can be VERY useful!
Boredom struck and I actually read through 90% of this entire thread to try and find a proper Onimusha Blade Warriors/Onimusha Buraiden tier list. XD
Sadly, I couldnāt find one other than one post that mentioned Zero and Rockman EXE possibly being the best. (I already had the feeling that Rock was probably the Top of the game)
Anyone have any additional info on this game or a full list?
I feel like Leona is slighlty better than Mature. Unsure about Robert Garcia, Chin, Choi, and Chang. Robert has an awesome 9CD attack and Chang does insane damage when fully maxed out. Choi and Chin are smaller characters and could potentially be top tier.
It has been a while since Iāve played it but KoF 96 is my favorite fighting game :lovin:[/details]
