Tiers for obscure games

I’ve been in a Double Dragon mood (don’t know why, the fighting games sucked), so I have what I believe to be the tiers for the SNES game, Double Dragon V: The Shadow Falls

God Tier

  1. Sekka- Her jab is an infinite blockstun in the corner. She has stupidly good moves with high priority on top of being the fastest character in the game. She’s way too good.
  2. Blade- Great tick damage and good combo potential. Hardy enough to take lots of punishment

Top Tier
3) Billy and Jimmy- They’re basically the same character in this game. They have a versatile moveset and they can do excellent tick damage like Blade, best anti-air in the game.

Mid Tier
4) Shadow Master- He’d be the best character in the game if he weren’t as punishable as he is, too many of his moves aren’t safe, so mistakes are costly with him
5) Icepick- He has solid moves and is good on defense, poor offensive capabilities due to having trouble getting in against zoning or fast characters

Low Tier
6) Dominique- All she has is good reach and priority. Her damage output is too low and her combo potential is low
7) Bones- He sucks at everything. His moves do decent damage, but he has too little combo potential and he takes a lot of damage. Moves have too much lag

I will try to do the Double Dragon game on the Neo Geo after I do more extensive playtesting. Does anyone have anything for that game yet?

I was wondering if anyone could elaborate more on the Galaxy Fight tiers, specifically about G. Done. I tried to figure out what his infinite is with his back+C throw, but I’ve had no luck. Also, from what I’ve seen/done, G. Done has exactly nothing aside from his infinite and roll. Sure, his dpm+button in air is nice, but it’s so slow and his jump arc is so high that it usually winds up trading at best. He reminds me of Sujia, except without a fireball or bubble.

I was told that the term infinite is incorrect for what I meant to say. His Back+C grab prevents any sort of wake-up recovery by the opponent. Once G. Done gets the grab off the first time, its pretty much game over for the opponent, and it works on everyone except that stupid rabbit thing and maybe not Bonus Kun (he can’t block, so who cares).

G. Done has no problems getting in because he can handle aerials with his Df+C and he can attack reasonably well from air or the ground. G. Done is too powerful in this game, although after playing some more, he might be the 2nd best behind Juri because her attacks and running speed are so fast, that G. Done loses a lot of his safety value against her when combined with Juri’s insane priority on most of her crap. Juri and G. Done are about equal, but Juri requires quicker reflexes in order to take advantage of her stun comboes, so she has a lot less room for error than G. Done.

I believe Jenny was top tier in Bloody Roar 2 (I luved that game anyway!).

High speed, high damage, average defense, devastating combos… she was the ultimate fighter in that game.

I never played BR2, but I would believe it. She is still a bitch in Primal Fury.

The thing about the BR series is that everyone has crazy damaging combos. The thing that seperates the good characters from the bad is thier set-ups. Safe strings are negligible since you can cancel into a guard attack then cancel that as well or not. So virtually any attack string can be made safe.

That said I don’t know Jenny’s set-ups for her combos. In BR3 she is beastly, although a few characters are better then her.

Anyone with good range, mix-ups, set-ups and speed will be a higher tier character. You just have to have good ways to get in those crazy combos consistently. Usually with a throw or low attack into a launcher move.

I know Shina is good in BR2. So is Gado, I think although he isn’t so hot in BR4 IMO. Still beast in BR3. Yugo is different in BR2. So I don’t know how good he is.

Did anybody do Clayfighter 1 and 2 tiers? I havent played those games in forever. I used to play Hoppy. Dont remember much else though.

Clayfighter Stuff

I tryed to play clayfighter one back in the day, well it was tournament edition. But still the same game as clayfighter one. Cept for the fact that non te edition still had the blob buzzsaw glitch. But for clayfighter one, I’ll put who I think is top. But someone else who probably knows more then me can post up more info.

Clayfighter TE Top Chara’s(in no order)

1-Bad Mr Frosty-Has the biggest moveset in the game, has stupid run away with slow version snow ball in air. His shoulder charge move is just back, forward+punch, yes just back forward. No charge needed which makes it extremely stupid. Footslide move can go under most projectiles. Has an uppercut move which is alright I guess. 2 fireballs plus more dumb crap. A very lame character.
2-Taffy-Has his taffy twirl moves which are good far as I can tell. And he has limb type pokes ala dhalsim. His charge punch move seems pretty nice also.
3-Tiny-Has an insane jump in(everyone does), but his just seems to be extremely good. Can psuedo run away with his medicine ball move like frosty after getting a lead. And he also has his infinite in the corner, which is just light punch over and over while walking towards them. I’ll put the link up to that vid.

Blob and Tiny are top.
Tiny can antiair infinite you doing the same thing. He has invincible blanka ball that trades, and his standing fierce to safe qcf+P pressure is nuts.
Blob has the best antiair in the game ( crouching Roundhouse is a boot that acts like the Hyper version of Blanka’s vert roll and hits on the way down and is highly spammable ), hcf+forward makes him do a slide that is second only to Bad Mr Frosty’s in terms of KO state damage potential and safety, his qcf+P spit hits multiple times and chips, AND he has the best tick throw in the game without question.
IMO it’s Blob, Tiny, then:
Frosty, Taffy, Bonker, Helga, Ickybod
then Blue Suede Goo at bottom

LOL So true

awwwww i liked Blue Suede Goo. What about Clayfighter 2?

I played br2 before I was actually into fighters in a non-casual way.

I thought bakaryu was top in that game. He seemed broken to me.

If anyone has any concrete info, that would be awesome.

Also, I’m not really looking to comment on the games quality by posting it here but what is the tiers for killer instinct for snes?(not the 64 one)

Next time I revise the tier list he is probably going down. Since he is easier to jump in on then other characters and the fact that he cannot crouch really messes him up overall.

That sounds about right, I need to go back and do some of that ish with blob when I get the game again. And yes your right about the fierce into his dash punch with tiny, shit is off the wall. Also I wanted to get an opinion on what you think about bonker, cause he seems really stupid with his high pie attack. Like I noticed that when he throws it, the way his arm comes out. His arm sticks out real far, then the pie comes out at this stupid distance. I just remember using pie shit on my brother in that game and having it just have these insanely good hit boxes. Try it some time and you’ll see what I mean. Post some more good stuff up when you get the chance too man!

Has anyone done a tier list for Mace: The Dark Age

I love Midways char design/bcground even if the gameplay is mostly crap.

Spectral vs. Generation tiers?

CF1-top bad mr frost and blob. Bad Mr. Frosty can turtle or rush down, hes kind of like storm. For rush down just keep throwing ice breath or his hand projectile. Then keep doing his shoulder over and over again since its not a charge move. To run away keep doing snow-ball with weak punch in the air and let time run out. Blob isnt that hard to use, all you need is his saw, boot, and spit move.

CF-TE-top is Tiny owns everyone.

CF2-top
Mr. Frost
Hoppy
Kangoo
Googoo

Yeah, Mace is a dope game. Probably my fav. fighting game for the N64. Anyways the two best characters in the game are definitely koyasha and takeshi. Koyasha can go into jab infinite off of her low string IIRC and takeshi has his “hundred hand slap” infinite on stages with a slope. If you decide to ban the c.jab infs. then the next best person in the game would be Xiao Long/Ned.

Why does Hoppy own in CF2? Can u elaborate on the tiers a bit plz. I still have this game and it would be hilarious to try some broke shit.
