Tiers for obscure games

wasn’t Flash straight up ridiculous in that game? i seem to remember him just warping around at will
Green Arrow too, his arrow keepaway is like Mina from SS Tenka or something

Yeah, but that’s only in the SNES version. Genesis version changed everything just for the simple fact of being able to buffer specials. The SNES version is just plain boring.

oh so she sucks hmmm

Sonic the Fighters Tier List
~Revised yet again~

High Tier
Knuckles: He has an insane rush down capabilities. He also has a lot of fairly safe barrier breakers. His default grab does have a really strange start up making it harder to pull off, but when you get it in it?s a very good set up. He is equipped with one of the best dodges in the game. Does great damage. Lacks projectile, doesn’t really need it though.

Amy: A little on the slow side, but more than makes up with it with power and range. Many of Amy?s moves (including barrier breaking moves) space her correctly so she cannot be grabbed or get hit by the majority of attack. Her grab can be a good set up in corners. She has good following moves and has effective moves in all directions. She is even equipped with a few projectiles that can keep people away or combo.

Tails: Tails has some pretty crazy rush down capabilities. He has the best dodge in the game of all the playable characters. He has moves that are decent for land chasing and can also really punish people who don?t do it. He has moves that are effective pretty much in every situation unless the opponent can do a reverse land or a far land. However, his damage isn?t the best.

Mid Tier
Fang: The projectile guy. Fang has ton to work with when it comes to keeping the opponent away though his melee attack are fairly slow, leaving him a bit open (though his grabs can help him make distance again). He still is very hard to approach for characters because of his projectiles, and his unblockable makes him even harder to get close to. His projectiles can be knocked away by spin attacks which usually force him to fight near a corner. He has some crazy damaged wall combos and land chases.

Bark: Slow! Probably the first thing you think of when you play as Bark. But he is also very powerful. Has the ability to breaks barriers pretty quickly and actually pretty safely. He has multiple grabs that are good in different situations; all of them can be comboed off of in certain positioning (leads to massive damage). He can stop characters from using otherwise effective dodging approaches, which makes it so people cannot just rush him down.

Bean: Bomb projectiles. A strong default grab. Unlike the other projectile guy in the game Bean actually have a couple of fast melee attacks. His damage is pretty low but can overwhelm people with bombs. His hyper mode lets him get a grab in really easily. His ability to play a ranged game, and still be fast up close is useful. Though his damage is low enough to keep him down and he is still a bit limited in melee range.

Low Tier
Espio: Espio gives out quite a bit of damage. He has a good ranged attack and decent throws. He has some slow start ups on a few of his attacks and cannot space out too effectively. There are some moves that will put both the opponent and Espio in a position of limited choices with Espio having a bit of an advantage. Espio has ways to get his grabs in easier then other characters and he needs to try and abuse it to keep up with the rest of he cast because his combos are a bit limited.

Sonic: Sonic can break barriers fairly well, but he gets punished for most of the attacks that do. His neutral punches are decent but he still has limited options when it comes to combat and his speed doesn?t help him much. I think that the developers thought his barrier breaking attack could make him even with the others but it doesn?t. He is just like Bean without projectiles, with barrier breaking abilities and a worse hyper mode.

Not really shitty, but I think it’d be interesting to see someone make a tier list for mvc2 on a pad. Either dreamcast or ps2.

??? does it really make a difference between pad or stick? I can’t really think of anything that would be IMPOSSIBLE to do on pad that you can do on stick.

I have ALOT of trouble playing Magneto and Storm on a pad. And it’s really hard to even do the simple Storm lightning attack to lightning storm combo.

Actually, all fighters considered, I found ONE move almost impossible to perform on pad: the K9999 HSDM, since you have to press back and forth so many times in so little time (hella easy on stick, hella hard on pad)

I need power stone one tiers please… this is my guess on it though I am probably off…

My Power Stone 1 Tiers;

Top Tier:
Galuda
Ayame

Higher tier:
Ryoma
Gunrock

Mid tier:
Falcon
Rouge

Low tier:
WangTang
Jack

WangTang needs to be WAAAAAAY higher.

Seriously? I keep seeing that but I dont understand. He loses health fast, damage isn’t too great, he lacks a good jump in (which is only replaced by a hard to perform pounce cancel, and that doesn’t make up for it). And when he loses his super form he is easily punished unless he ends it with his relatively weak Dragon Dance super (which only protects him if it launches the opponent away from any nearby walls). His super form is pretty decent but that doesn’t make up for what he is lacking IMO. What should he be? Top of mid tier or something?

I think someone else could probably explain it better, since I didn’t delve much into the game, but I thought it was generally understood as well. He seems really braindead in my experience.

IIRC Ayame and WangTang are considered tops.

BTW Bark is the shit. He should be brought back.

He was. Him and Bean were the two lone StF entries in Fighter’s Megamix.

Note: Why not Sonic and Tails was beyond me then, but now I realize these two were created by AM2 (or at least Bark; Bean is from an obscure older SEGA game) for the game and didn’t need Sonic Team’s permission to use. This is probably why you won’t see them appear in any other Sonic games.

I though Bark was fun to play at first, but then I found his inability to crouch annoyed me. I will admit, though, I found his introducing his opponent’s muzzle to the mat in a simple yet painful manner to be just as hilarious as some of the more over-the-top moves in the game.

Edit: By the way, Giza, nice Bark av… LOL.

Agreed. Surely that was a jest…

Here’s the thing: Lots of characters in this game have an ackward jump in. People just hard bounce cancel because it’s quick and safe if you abuse it, and it’s easier to knock crystals off this way. Wang’s transformation is extremely abused by “keep away” tactics - I’ve only seen people “Huge Fireball” and 3x dragon blast (lol I don’t know the names). Every character lags after transformation in 1, so it`s really nothing new or anything. If played correctly Wang can rape the entire roster in this game alone.

Jack (but he did improve himself in 2, problem was that almost everybody else did too)

Wang Tang has easy to dodge final strike. His pounce cancel still means he has to be positioned some what above the opponent, which is usually not a safe position (because air grab can go through a pounce even when it already started). Beyond that, Wang Tang’s grab and priority are subpar. Most of the characters can jump in on him without fear of being out prioritized, all they need to fear is a dodge jump homing kick (which is wang tangs case isn’t too fast). Wang Tang’s pressure game is limited because of his priority, weak jump in, and his dizzy potential isn’t too good. Wang Tang is pretty fast and does decent damage.

His Power form is pretty strong. His energy beams do decent damage and are likely to hit, they can also combo into his dragon dance. However his Spirit Bomb super is not as good as people make out, since it cannot be truly comboed into to my knowledge. The opponent can hit the super projectile with certain attacks to cause a knock-away on the first hit. Making the super relatively useless overall. If he does get the stones he may have a chance to win. But we also isn’t the best at getting the stones.

In any case, the lag at the end of the Power form is very important. Yes, all characters have it. However some characters moves are more likely to hit or make the opponent need distance. Wang Tang is somewhat good at defending himself with the end of his power transformations but not the best.

I suppose Geluda probably shouldn’t be top either, because of his lack of a good power form (I rarely ever use it unless I dizzy and the final stone is next to me). However his high priority, turn around grabs, good jump ins, and strong dizzy potential + high damage make him quite the beast.

Edit:
After playing as Wang Tang some more I decided he should be higher up then second from bottom… a lot higher

How about?
Top Tier:
Galuda (infinite)
Ayame
WangTang

Mid tier:
Jack
Gunrock
Falcon

Low tier:
Ryoma
Rouge

For Way of the warrior 3DO I think Dragon is the only god tier (only made possible with my roommates 3DO)

Rise of the Robots for snes, top tier 2nd player, bottom tier 1st player.

:annoy: That does not belong here. Daraku Tenshi wasn’t half bad. None of the characters are Ivan Ooze/SS2 Ukyo/PWOOOAH GENEI JIN level, but there are some characters definitely better than others. Also, to “Best From Now”, yeah, Haiji’s pretty good, but his Galactiga Phantom takeoff is overrated. It’s really unsave on block on all versions and charging for the unblockable takes so long that they’ll just jump behind you and rape you. Tiers are constantly changing, mostly due to me being an idiot, but here’s my most recent thoughts:

  1. Torao Onigawara: parry BS, fantastic reversal super, and normal chains that are quick, safe, and can combo you from anywhere.

  2. Ruccio Roche: small hitbox, ryoku ranbu super that combos from anything and has invincibility that leads to 2/3-life juggles. Superb anti-air and can combo just about anything into anything.

  3. Haiji Mibu: Can and will rush you down. Has a lot of powerful, safe moves, and is pretty versatile when on offense. Oh yeah, and he’s got Galactica Phantom. His biggest problem is that he can’t do shit on defense. None of his moves are quick enough, and using the super armor is a huge, huge gamble.

  4. Harry Ness: his b’n’b does hefty damage, and his command throw is pretty good, not to mention his supers do crazy damage. Unfortunately, he’s a grappler at heart: big, clunky, and overall pretty slow.

  5. Yurian: Her throws can get you from out of anything, and I mean anything, including certain normal chains, like Haiji’s HK–>reverse stance HP. Her drop kick and running grab are really fast and cover a lot of distance. Really, her biggest weakness is needing to charge her moves. If Yurian keeps getting jump HK’d then she can’t do much because her throw is a flash kick motion.

  6. Taro: Solid damage, and can do some crazy chip damage. Slooooow as anything, and not especially versitile.

  7. Yurien: Ryu in drag. She’s got a dash punch, tiger kick, and overhead flip kick. She might actually be better than this, but I just don’t especially like him (OMG Spoiler).

  8. Cool: Crap. Laughable speed and priority, and has to struggle to even do shit damage. Not to mention that his supers are almost impossible to perform. There may be a lot of disagreement about the tiers within DT, but one thing everyone agrees on: Cool sucks.

i can pull that off pretty easily on pad.
