I was just wondering how the tier system works. I have been stuck on tier 3 the entire time I have been playing. I’m to the point where I’m destroying everyone it matches me up with, but I’m not going up in tier. It’s to the point where its getting boring. Can anyone explain how I’m supposed to move up in tiers?
How many matches have you done in all? W/L ratio?
I’m not sure…is there a way i can look it up? I would guess its probably around 3 or 4. I’ve been undefeated for the past 8 or 10 matches.
tonight i kept track of my ratio…I’ve lost 3 out of 30 matches and my spot on the leaderboard stopped going up and is wavering between 2400 and 2500 whether I win or lose. I think its because my ELO rating isn’t going up because I’m constantly playing people with a lower ELO rating than myself. I’m not even trying anymore which is the only reason why i lost the 3 i did. Its slowly becoming not fun anymore. I should be at least tier 4 but i’m not going up despite my constant winning.
Can someone please shed some light on this? Should I report it as a bug? I absolutely love this game and I don’t want to lose interest because I can’t play anyone worth playing. I know I can play unranked matches, but its just not the same.
I might be an idiot and not able to find it, but how are you able to tell what tier are you in? Is it console specific?
that sucks perhaps you should post in the bugs and glitches thread. it might be your region as well if you only play those in your region… idk.
the only other obvious answer is that you had a horrid win/loss ratio starting out and you need to make that up? i doubt that though.
maybe you just really need to grind it out against baddies more… perhaps thats what the tier 1,2 and 3 players did.
your situation while bad isnt as bad as mine, i cant connect with anyone below 250 ping… and lol i have 100% win ratio in the 2 matches i have played… not that that matters.

You’re so lucky, I’d love to be in Tier 3 if it means that I get to play people frequently. But when you’re Tier 7 and higher, opponents are so damn rare that when you do have someone connect to you, they end up having 500 ping. le sigh

Not on 360. There probably is in a sense that it will try to match you up with similarly skilled players, but it isn’t the tier system that is shown on the PS3 version.
That explains why I can’t find it at all.
this reminds me of the whole thing with SF4 as well only matching people in the same tier, eventually you are going to get a barren wasteland of players once you rank up high enough.
im glad i dont have a PS3. you should be able to play anyone and everyone. Though PS3 owners will get a lot more competition once it comes out on PC.
