Tier discussion

wow. marn is a jerk. a bit too cocky for his own good.

Yeah exactly you go where crowds go. That means where the money goes. Who am I? Wow really, you forgot who I was already. In that case I will not need to repeat myself. I have won tournaments but not big pots like you have so you can stop trolling me about that.

Yeah you just realized that Marn is a jerk haha, umm yea he is cocky which is why he is going to get owned by his own people at SBO.

This isn’t exactly the best spot to be talkin about upcoming tournaments, but just to say, I’m trying to hit that one up too so hopefully I’ll meet u up there:tup:

I already have my flight booked. So much money in SSF4
But since you’re going to be at that tournament… I’ll let you run it back, I’ll join TvC just for you ~

I’m a jerk? I’m not the one going around spreading false information that Zero isn’t #1 when he obviously is. That is all.

yeah, you’re still a jerk, dude. saying zero isn’t #1 (which is not a fact, btw) doesn’t qualify someone as a jerk. bashing this game and its players kind of does classify you as such.

Go and play brawl Marn. It seems like your kind of game. Cheesy, easy, unbalanced character roster and a big community with lots of pay out. Yeah, TvC still rocks. Only thing bad about it is the low tournament turn outs, that’s the only negative, but I have love for the game still.

Zero is not #1 dude, Your the only Zero player. Yeah you won tournaments but enter in the WNF TvC tournament ran by Alex Valle and then you can prove your point cause right now in the small tournaments getting 15 to 20 people, Zero is not winning tournaments. Now that I think about SSF4 and SSMB have a lot in common, counter picking to win all day haha. TvC kind of has counter pick but most characters have potential. So the fact of the matter right now Zero is not #1, at EVO and before he was but now he is not. Marn it does not mean Zero sucks but he is not #1 on the top tiers. As of now it is Blade/Ken/Yatter-1/Zero IMO. Others have agreed with me on this too.

I still think that Zero is #1. Blade is a big gimmick and is rather easy to best once you learn how to block and I haven’t really seen anything from Ken that makes me he is better than Zero. (NOTE: I am not saying that they are bad…I’m just saying that they are not as good as Zero)

It looks to me like everyone’s tier list is being heavily influenced by who they lose to as opposed to actual character stats vs the entire cast. Zero will seem like #4 in an environment dominated by characters that can OCK him especially when the Zero players aren’t as good (or even familiar with Zero) as their Blade playing counterparts. Its only natural that Zero would seem like #4.

The way I see it, Zero is faster than everyone (except Yatter-1 who I think is #2 in the game), out prioritizes everyone, has Oki, has mixup, has a great lvl 3 and does very good damage. He batteries meter faster than everyone else, can catch runaway characters, and can fight the giants decently well.

Another thing to note is that people were forced to adapt to Zero due to fear of him. During that adaptation phase, most Zero players simply became lazy. They didn’t bother learning the finer points of their character because they could get by with mashing A (because it beats everything). Now that the community has adapted and the mash A strat is no longer as effective, people are starting to think that Zero is less of a threat. This really isn’t the case guys. Zero is still a force (and I firmly believe that he is still #1).

If I were to make a tier list based on my experience and used my win/loss ratio as the sole driving factor (which seems like the case here) my list would be:

S. Zero

  1. Doronjo
  2. Morrigan
  3. Polimar
  4. Jun
  5. Ryu
  6. Tekkaman Blade
  7. PTX
  8. Yatter-1
  9. Chun

This list is OBVIOUSLY skewed, yet this is what my experience tells me. I’ve lost to Marn (Zero) twice in tournament and around 60% of the time in casuals, PRO (Morrigan/Zero) and PJ (Polimar/Ryu) countless times in testing, and I’ve gone 50/50 with RyRy (Jun/Chun/Ryu) and Keits (Blade) a bunch. This is not what the tier list should be based on!

The tier list should be the limit given two players of equally high skill level playing every matchup in the game as it approaches infinity. Given that, Zero would be number 1 due to the many things that I mentioned in this post and many before it. The other slots are a bit more liquid at the time and I don’t have the fortitude to fill those in at this time lol.

My list is the way it is because not much has changed from CGoH to UAS. Not because I lose to certin cast members, I see what they are doing in this game and can rate them.

Some things were taken away and then new things added, the only players that have really suffered is Karas and Volutt (whom I have dropped).

lets just rate teams, since we can all agree that the top 10 are up in the air. I would like to see what you guys see as top 10 teams in the game.

zero is #1

This is not just based off himself as a point character. His overall form of play is the best, which is including:
1: His ability on point and as a battery
2: The uses he has for other character’s assists
3: Usefulness as an assist himself
4: His simplicity of being able to win
5: Although being simple to learn, he still has technicalities to him and has high combo potential whether u be flashy or not

Still, this fact doesn’t mean that he is god tier, this game is pretty balanced. You may think that a character like Y-1 could be better than Zero easily, but the synergy that Zero has with the whole cast overshadows Y-1’s completely. I could type a bunch of other crap of why Zero is #1 but I don’t wanna, so if you wanna troll and disagree, get at me…

^^

OK so now that we know you ride dick, who are the best 5 teams then? I joke I joke and troll, nah but who do you see as the top 5 teams really?

I mean it is a 2v2 game so the top person is only important to the best players. Top teams will be more of a discussion based format.

Like I said top 10 is so up in the air (rather top 5-7)

zero is def #1 and i hate it.

I don’t know I am not scared of Zero anymore and I rarely lose to them now. Kurasa made a good list of personal experience which we all have our own personal experience list so yeah. I just think Blade and Zero are pretty even or Blade has a more advantage. Honestly Blade is not a gimmick character unless you are playing like someone who got 7th at EVO. I learned a lot of new things with Blade and I disagree with him being a gimmick character.

I would say it’s close. I believe it would be Zero, Blade, and Y1. Zero because he has insane mixups and long combos. Blade because his projectiles, mixups, powerful mashing attack, and crash interlude. Y1 because of his speed, range, and long combos.

Does anyone have any non-Keits, non-online good T-Blade footage? I’m talking about the “mira cabrone” stuff. Everyone keeps ranking him much higher than I think qualifies so I would like to see what I’ve been missing.

I’m asking for non-Keits footage because that’s my homie and we battle for hours whenever we get a chance and non-online because we already know how godly Blade is in a laggy environment.

I don’t know but you need to play me now Kurasa. Looking forward to playing you again.

The only other good Blade player is Flexo. Blade basically has a touch of death on just about everyone with no baroque and 1 meter and a touch of death on everyone with baroque and 1 meter.

For characters with a bit more health you just baroque his mash move and do an extra launcher.

IMO his matchups are as such

Zero: 4-6 Zero
Y-1: 6-4 Blade (ask shiki for his thoughts)
Saki: 4-6 Saki (not to sure on this one though)
Jun: 5-5
Doronjo: 4-6 Doronjo
Lightan: 8-2 Blade
Ptx: 7-3 Blade
Tekkaman: 6-4 Blade
Ryu: 5-5
Polymar: 6-4 Blade
Everyone else: 6-4 Blade (definitely not sure on this one since I don’t know the other characters very well)

Flexo likes to play keep away with Blade till he gets enough meter to megacrash then plays rushdown to try and get his touch of death. I would say Blade gets beaten by characters who have a better keep away game then him. Characters who rely on jump-ins or air-to-ground to apply pressure usually get beat by blade’s keep away game and get crossed over from underneath to eat his touch of death. You either have to out camp him or keep him in blockstun for long periods of time till he messes up.

Nexislee signing in. Just saying, don’t quote me on this stuff, but if I was to rank the characters from good to bad. There would be no outright gay characters and no characters below c rank.

Sure S-rank would definately be: Zero and Tekkaman Blade, I can’t really say to much about y-man1 because I haven’t played them enough, except for dest.

A-rank would be: Ryu, Chun-Li, Alex, The Street Fighter Crew, Megaman Vnutt, personally because he’s my boy, Ken, Jun, Joe, the G-Unit, Polimar, Y-man1, and Y-man2.

B-rank would probably be: Morrigan, Batsu, Kaijin no Soki, Roll, Viewtiful Joe, PTX, Tekkaman and Doronjo.

And C-rank would most likely be: Saki, Frank “OH MY GOD” West, Casshan, Karas, Only because of his health problem and nobody who ‘I know’ picks him online, Ippatsuman, and Big G. Lightan. And I should know about Frank and G. Lightan, I play with em. Saki I’m not to sure about though.

And keep in mind, this is only what I think based on the majority of people who I see online and who can usually beat me. If you think my list is totally wrong you’re free to try to change my mind anytime, just hit me up.
