from personal experience with my friends the tiers in Eretzvaju was something like this, also take note that the game was balanced enough to make the tiers something somehow irrelevant when you knew how to play efectively with your char
S tier
Kakurine, Ihadurca, Keiya, Al
A tier
Lie, Danzaiver, Midori, Setsuna, Erel
B tier
Gally
i have to say that the game was pretty descent, basic in some aspects, but it was really fun to play, i never liked the usa version btw, the voices were terrible (happy that i still have my japanese copy of the game)
Top: 1. Ihadurca Il Imella: Her double shot(lol, Gouken) plus her area of effect death balls meant that Iha never had to move, but it was disastrous for her opponent when she did. She was hard as hell to catch. 2. Tenpouin Keiya: His double-tapped ground projectile gives him a free meter. He isn’t the sturdiest fighter, but he’s one of the most mobile, and…his double-tapped ground projectile gives him a free meter. 3. Danzaiver: Typhoon Bomber is what makes him top tier. In a game that’s so based on projectiles, a Psycho Crusher-esque move that destroys projectiles is absurdly overpowered. Danzaiver doesn’t have any actual weaknesses, honestly. It’s just that his tools don’t keep out all attackers…or give him a free meter. 4. Saizuki Setsuna: Her traps with Firebird Attack and Sword Attack are disgusting. She can keep you trapped and blockstun throw you to DEATH. She’s like the Strider Hiryu of Evil Zone.
Middle: 5. Lindewell Rainrix: He’s unbeatable in close quarters(except by Iha) but lacks at a distance. His entire game is about getting in close, and he takes fast hands to play well because he doesn’t have a projectile-killer a la Typhoon Bomber. 6. Himeno Midori: My sexy, sexy main is so fun, and probably the most basic character, but aside from her instant stun projectile, she’s not anything special. She’s competent…that’s it. 7. Kakurine: Her hula hoops are fantastic, but her keepaway and pressure games are lacking. Combine that with her poor stamina and you have a very fragile combatant. That said, in the right hands, she’s fucking scary.
Low: 8. Gally “Vanish” Gregman: The BOUNTY HUNTER!!! is very, very manly and excels at his “sweetspot” range, that being around mid-screen distance from his opponent. However, if he’s not at that distance, he’s screwed, and keeping that position is difficult for him. 9. Erel Plowse: Erel’s stick-and-move rushdown with her beam is fun and can be used effectively, but Erel lacks the bullshit of the rest of the cast. 10. Alty Al Lazel: “Mr. Lazel…drink your milk.” At the risk of sounding creepy, Al is really cute, but like Gally, he’s only good at a certain position. His projectiles have a bit of a windup as Ol’ Shota Shorts bends back to throw them, so he can’t afford split-second reactions the way everyone else can.
Evil Zone is a really balanced game and I think there’s potential for it to have a very, very small scene of people who dick around with it for the lulz. It’s not worth taking seriously, though…maybe that’s why it’s one of my favorite fighters to this day.
I don’t know about Skate being mid. That corkscrew kick is more useful than just damage output, you can use it for positioning, too. Gets you close you can grab and then wail on someone’s face from the shoulders. Beast. And doesn’t that breakdance special work exactly like Axel’s neutral?
She has her Musasabi Mai (charge d ~ u+P), which normally has her go to the edge of the screen to perform it. On her stage, however, she can do this off of the poles on the raft which makes speeds the move up considerably. Other than it being much safer, it adds to her AA options and in general it can get around lots of things.
