I think thats sad. More people should care about this game. People here are fortunate enough to play and learn from some of the best players in the nation. We cant do that with any other game here in houston. R0b0t was once commonly agreed upon to be the 2nd best Sol in the nation. I dont think anyone here comes even close to being the 2nd Best Sentinal in the nation, or the 2nd best Blanka in the nation, or even the 22th best. I think this game, and houston players like Robot, is what really put Houston on the map in the fighting game community. People can play Marvel all they want, but playing the same people wont get anyone significantly better. Catching up with Cali or NY, doesnt seem possible. But now Texas finnialy has a game where we dont have to play 2nd fiddle to anyone. A game where its reasonably possible for the players here can be the best in the nation. But only if we practice and work at it. I am not willing to throw that away. Comming back from Philli for NEC, I can say that there a lot of Houston casual GGXX players that would have made top 5 easy, and other serious h-town ggxx players that would have won it for free. Not because they’ve worked super hard trying to be good, but just because they’ve had the comp from really good players, something more valuable then 1,000 hours of playing someone almost equal to your level. And with that said i will be at Robot’s house trying to get better, while helping others that want to do the same.

Ever since the console switch, the only GG play was at #Riot, regionals (which had extremely low turnout), and the rare get together at someone’s house between close friends or empire beastia :rolleyes: . Oh yeah, and it’s facade.

Tx is on the map for MvC2…if you were to do your research…which obviously you haven’t, you would have known that i was the FIRST in the SW to qualify at Evo…hell, the only guy in TX as far as i know…who qualified…considering how bad i was playing…now tell me that isn’t something…and the whole thing about us not catching up to cali and ny…we have been able to compete with some of the best…i know i have at least…and you still got exellent players like Joe, Ricky who show great potential and have gained some respect and recognition…so to go and say something ignorant doesn’t surprise me…especially coming from someone who knows jack shit about MvC2 :karate:
as far as jake having the 2nd best Sol in the nation…that is debatable…but considering how much time and effort he put into getting where he’s at now…i guess he should…then again, i am still able to hang with some of the best players considering i don’t even play the damn game…hmm…i GUESS…

Hey vinny get out of my thread since you dont care about GGXX, anyway back to this weekend. im willing to throw these get togethers twice a month, maybe even more if popularity increases, i want to get good at guilty gear again, i want to be back in as far as good players go, so listen people please come to my house and play guilty gear this weekend, and anything you can bring would be awesome, consoles, tvs controlers stickts whatever, now i dont have a ton of room, but if everyone is willing to come, i promise it would be worth it, i want to help the secne and i want to improve myself, anyone down please post!
