im too slow on my reactions so i eat throws all the time… they seems fine to me…
Throws are so easy to tech in this game because unlike SF you can get massive damage off a throw. The majority of the characters have 2500+ damage combos off a throw. If everyone ran around with 0 frame throws the game would be an even bigger disaster.

You can throw break counter throws.
That shit needs to go.
You have literally, almost a half a second to tech combo throws. You would have to be a super-scrub or literally asleep during a match to eat one. If you have a driver’s license and your reaction time is worse than half a second, you need to turn that shit in and never get in the driver’s seat of a vehicle again. Seriously.
Can’t you follow up off throws in GGXX? And aren’t throws in that game 0frames? Isn’t that game not a disaster at all? Couldn’t the designers just roll back the damage potential of throws and make them overall more useful? (Being useful doesn’t mean big damage off them).

Not every character has a follow-up. A lot of characters do, but it’s pretty weak. (ABA, Testament, Dizzy, Millia, Johnny, Ky via FRC, Axl, Jam, Venom and Ino and HOS in the corner IIRC) Also, in AC, they did indeed, add throw teching, and the damage really isn’t as much of a factor via the throw in GGAC. The game would break down into madness if they allowed you to grab during hitstun and blockstun with a small window to tech though. The 25-frame window tech time for hitstun and blockstun is fine the way it is.

You buffer B+C during a move with a lot of startup.
That doesn’t change the fact that the game system itself has a system in place that legitimate counter throws are untechable. The video only shows a way to subvert the system.
You can make any move unthrow-counterable only by inputting the anti-tech along with the attack itself. That said, immediately after throwing the above tactic, I believe you cannot tech again for quite a bit.
Its the same thing with faultless defense throw-teching, except done while attacking. No news there. If you threw out a move with that much lag and got thrown out of it, no harm, no foul either side.
Nobody took damage, match is restarted, why are you complaining? The attacker knew he was going to get thrown and cancelled it correctly. The other person fell for the tactic, but because it was a defensive tactic…
Yeah, I could go on for a while. Not enough to complain about the entire system. He could just have easily jumped out of the way and punched him in the back of the head.
Whatever, Counter Throws being breakable has got to go.
That, and command throws that you combo into being breakable kinda annoys me.
I have to agree with Sirlin on this one. I think that once people play this game a lot and know what to look for, it’s going to seriously wear down the effectiveness of throws. I’m terrible, and even now that exclamation point is like a beacon.

Personally Im fond of the system throw mechanics.
I think its exaggerating to say that throws will be useless.
Its now just harder to implement. This is by far not going to the game. After all this system to have safe guard against excessive defensive tactics.
Aggressive player needs to be smart just as a Passive player needs to. Why is it that now a certain tactic that has many way of being implement has a safe guard that doesn’t give any real advantage but create more scenarios looked down upon?
Its like being upset that theirs such techniques as Just defend/ Instant guard.
That’s a loop though, and it’s using throws beyond what their intended function is. I doubt when the designers made the throw, they did it so carl could have an inescapable trap on half the cast.
If there was a 27 frame window to pull off just defend, people would be upset about that too.
And the argument is that it gives a huge defensive advantage to the person being thrown because they have so many opportunities to break it. Like I said, I think this is gonna really negatively impact Tager’s game down the line.
I actually dislike how landing a throw guarantees you some massive damage if you got your execution down for the combo…but that’s just me.

If they let Sirlin work on this game, the first thing he would do is put Fei Long in…
