I’m new and I love Street fighter 3 third strike , and ST , I’m not too fond of either of the MVC or CvS games.
I really want to get good or at least alright at either of these games and I’ve got a few questions , feel free to answer , I’m not going to be negative , and I’m gonna take what you say to heart:
Which one of the games should I take more seriously? 3s is great and flashy , but I love ST and pulling off combos , and getting wins is more fun in ST.
Which character should I pick in either? I love Boxer in ST but he seems pretty hard to learn , if anyone has an opinion , tell me. In 3s I like Sean , which may sound weird , especially after him getting nerfed after 2I.
I live in the UK , so I’m not sure how to get competitive play , any Ideas? I have a 360 , and I have a Wii as well if that’s of any use.
Is a fighting stick a great purchase? I know I wont come off my Xbox 360 when STHD comes out so…
and finally 5. Is anyone willing to coach/teach me? I don’t
know how this would be done , but it would be cool. Kaillera and MSN seem like viable options though.
Super Turbo is great and if you have an xbox 360, the online play will surely be there. I dunno about the scene where you are at, check the regional forums for that.
I love ST and 3s, lots of people play both. I’m a boxer player myself, and I don’t really think he is all that difficult to learn, especially compared to chars like Gief or Hawk.
Arcade sticks are a must in my opinion. that is all there is to it. look in the customs forum in tech talk with more info about that.
for help with learning online, I suggest you check out the online matchmaking forums. I’m sure someone would be willing to help you, so long as you were cool about it.
Yeah Neoempire pretty much runs the tournament scene in the UK. If your in London, we regularly hold ranking battles for many games at Casino Arcade in London, including 3s and hsf2.
We also have a tournament coming up soon in Harrow, London.
Iron Man 2, its a winner stays on tournament. Unfortunately you missed out on the first Iron Man, where players battled it out on 3s, A3 and CvS2.
At Iron Man 2, sunday 25th November, there will be HSF2 and T5dr, plus many games on casual setups. Since your a fan of ST your might want to think about entering the HSF2 Iron man. Also I wouldn’t hold your breathe for ST, since we dropped that game over a year ago due to poor attendances and general lack of interest.

you’ll find more comp in 3s, ST players are hard to come by unless you can get your friends into it too.

in 3s start off with shotos (not sean) ken, ryu, akuma once you learn more about the game and its system, try dudley, necro, chun, etc etc

look around arcades, let playing online be your absolute LAST DESPERATE option.

Well if you plan on getting in some real life competition in outside of online play, then your not left with too many choices.
We hold all our major events in London at Yates Bar in Harrow, which have 100+ turnouts. Players from all over the country travel there to participate.
Also many London players go to Casino arcade on Friday to play some games, theres 3s, hsf2, cvs2, mvc2, kof2k2, kof98, t5dr and many more.
