There are too many unblockables for Ibuki o_o
It’s why we have to keep it a secret before Capcom finds out, and patches the living shit out of her. We like our A/B rank status in the tier lists.
Remember what happened to Honda when he got to be at the top of the A-rank in Super SF4? (which is a bullshit assessment) He got neutered.
Are you saying Super Honda wasn’t really really good?
He was good, but I don’t think he was the absolute best character in the game, which is what the tier lists put him as.
Super Honda vs Super Hakan. Go.
Ibuki unblockable on Zangief and Rufus. It works on C.Viper and Vega too.

Notes:
-Zangief
Stuffs crouch lariats (normal lariats too)
He can escape this by using ex green hand but it’s punishable
-Rufus
He can escape it with ex messiah kick but it’s punishable.
He can reset himself by using snake strike except for ex version which whiffs and it’s punishable
-C.Viper
She can escape it by feinting ex seismo.
She can escape it by using ex burn kick but it’s punishable.Sometimes i could hit ibuki with ex burn kick though…
-It stuffs hp thunder knuckle
-Vega
He can escape it by using either version of backslash but it’s punishable.
Edit:All of them can avoid the unblockable by backdashing
So I don’t know who are you, but I love you.
I guess it also works with MK? I don’t like jumpin on a big guy like Gief with LK
Ha ha thx Damascus.
I didn’t try it with jmk but i don’t understand why it should work with mk too.Does it mean that all the unblockables that work with jlk work with jmk too?
I don’t think that jlk is bad against gief considering that you have the option of going for jlk fmk tc if he decides to FA out of it.Also you have time to combo into cl stlp after a jlk against big characters like gief
Don’t know how useful this is considering it’s easy to escape, but you can do (Neckbreaker, walk forward st.MP, j.MK) on Sagat and he can’t block it standing. All reversal Tiger Knees/Uppercuts whiff completely, but he can just crouch/FA to avoid it or crouch non-reversal DP to hit you. Both Ultras also whiff.
Edit: Video here.

Also works on:
Seth (can crouch to avoid, DPs whiff, U1 whiffs, U2 sucks you closer but on the other side with no damage, Super catches you, EX kicks come out but you can block, and he can teleport away)
Vega (Claw) (EX Barcelona is stuffed, EX Sky High Claw hits you, both flips work but punishable, Scarlet Terrors air reset him, Crystal rolls all whiff and are punishable, Reversal U1 beats you, Reversal U2 whiffs, Super gets him to the wall for a follow-up)
I just tested this on Seth and he was not able to crouch to avoid, it even hit reversal c.LK. It did lose to non-reversal crouching DP. Seth can also s.HP to make the j.MK whiff.
Yeah I don’t know why but when I was testing that setup with Seth, I was able to crouch and avoid it (did that at 2 am so forgive me). That unblockable will lose to non-reversal crouch DPs but it fits the unblockable label so I posted it. Plus I figure that most people will instinctively stand block a jumping attack anyway.
Edit: Just tested it, with a very small step after the st.MP Seth cannot crouch to avoid it, but then it becomes blockable with Sagat.
Jumpin LK MK on wakeup makes option selecting hard. Also, hitting a tall character like Sagat or Gief on top of his head with j.LK will, as usual, not be a blockstring if blocked (and considering this tight unpractical unblockable setup, it may be blocked) .
And yes, those unblockables with jLK works also with j.MK, except the Sakura corner unblockable (j.MK may whiff in this case)
I see.Definitely this setup is not as easy as th 6lk shoto unblockable per say, but i wouldn’t consider it that tight either. There are a couple of frames that the unblockable works but you may probably eat a cr lariat.I have tested another ubblockable setup on gief after neckbreaker which is slight walk whiff cr lp and jlk but he can totally crouch it and punish you.I’ll see if i can find anything with jmk
He’s an old school dude who was here around Super SF4, and largely absent in AE 2011, but I guess he’s making a combo now in AE 2012?
I tried to replicate this unblockalol but didn’t have much success after 5-10 minutes. Are you sure you didn’t add some pause frames in there? Everytime I did it, it would cross up deep.
But anyways, thanks to your proof that an unblockalol exists on Sagat, I tried to see if there was an easier one. And there is!
Neckbreaker , walk forward , f+LK , j.LK or j.MK
Similar to the shoto unblockalol, this setup takes advantage of holding forward after the Neckbreaker, for frame perfect timing every time, as well as holding up forward after the f+LK. The only timing you need to do is when you press LK.
This should crossup Sagat by default (if he doesn’t try blocking), so doing an air target combo might be tricky (might have to mash both directions to option select it?), if you wanted dat true block string. Will try to record a video later.
I didn’t try it on any other characters as I didn’t have time before having to go to the tournament.
Unblockalols working with j.LK does not guarantee that they work with j.MK (see unblockalol vs Cammy).
Unblockalols working with j.MK usually works with j.LK.
Always make sure you test instead of assuming.
Double post: found a more efficient version of Hypersonic’s unblockalol:
Neckbreaker , walk forward , cr.LK , j.LK
Same properties as his, and same characters. Cross up by default on Gief. Regular on Rufus/CViper/Claw. Also note that CViper can wakeup crouching normal to make the unblockalol whiff.
Video soon.
Also one of these days I need to fill out the unblockalol chart to know which ones are tested to definitely work and which ones weren’t tested.
edit: tried using j.MK instead of j.LK.
Doesn’t seem to work on Gief or Claw? But definitely works on Rufus and CViper. Against CViper it seems to beat wakeup crouching normals. But does not stuff HP TKnuckle and is still susceptible to wakeup EX Seismo (but I don’t think you’ll get punished if you option select throw). Against Rufus it’s an excellent option to get extra damage off those stuffed Snake Strikes.
I did that unblockable at like 2:30 in the morning so I probably did add a couple pause frames. After watching my video, it doesn’t really seem like it though. It just seems like it has a weird timing (which is probably the reason he can crouch against it).
Your unblockable works much better though for sure (I tried walk f+LK for a while and couldn’t get it but again 2am). I can do a video if you want and test it on all the characters since I have it already recorded in training mode.
Also been going through the Ibuki sheets and seeing which characters have 1 or fewer unblockables to see if I can find any others, haven’t found any yet but I will post as soon as I find them.
480p lol. How about I record it but give credit to you since you’ll test it on all the characters?
Also I wonder if there’s way for the PC version to skip the versus screen? Our PCs are fast enough that shit loads in <1 second so there’s no need for that screen. The only trick I’ve been able to do is mash Start to skip a few seconds of it.
Yeah I just mash Start unless I’m playing online because other people never do anyway. Not sure if there’s a way to replace the VS screen with a blank file to make it skip completely, that would be pretty nice.
All I want credit for is my crappy version of your unblockable haha.
I just wish more people would just install the game onto the HDD for the console version of the game. Saves several seconds worth of intro time. But nobody ever seems to do this unless the console MAKES you install it.
I install all games to my 360 if I have even a small inclination to ever play them. You never know, plus I can’t stand that loud spinning sound that the console makes when it’s not installed.
Also, I just upload at that quality because that’s what it’s set to in Sony Vegas. Never bothered to mess with it since you can see what’s happening anyway.
Went through the list with Mingo’s unblockable, same results as mine but with 2 differences:
Sagat: DPs whiff, Ultras whiff, Tiger Knees whiff, Fireballs get stuffed (tested for Low shots just in case he could use them to make it whiff/hit you), Super whiffs, crouching makes Ibuki whiff, crouching non-reversal DP hits you.
Seth (can crouch to avoid, Reversal DPs whiff, crouching non-reversal DP hits you, U1 whiffs, U2 sucks you closer but on the other side with no damage, Super catches you, EX kicks come out but you can block, and he can teleport away)
Vega (Claw) (EX Barcelona toward Ibuki whiffs, away from Ibuki hits her, EX Sky High Claw whiffs, both flips work but punishable, Reversal Scarlet Terrors air reset him, crouching non-reversal Scarlet Terrors hit you, Crystal rolls all whiff and are punishable, Reversal U1 beats you, Reversal U2 whiffs, Super gets him to the wall for a follow-up)
